Flankers are Unbeatable in WVR

BTW ; Flankers will first fire its R 77 s to force the enemy to take evasive action
while its powerful jammers will bring it into a merge and WVR
Come back and do your habitual chest thumping once your Flanker has more than a balloon to show for it's self.

Why India is replacing Russian R-73 Close combat air-to-air missile with Israeli Python-5 on LCA-Tejas

http://idrw.org/india-replacing-rus...t-air-air-missile-israeli-python-5-lca-tejas/

The Python-5[10] is currently the most capable air-to-air missile in Israel's inventory and one of the most advanced AAMs in the world. As a beyond-visual-range missile, it is capable of "lock-on after launch" (LOAL), and has full-sphere/all-direction (including rearward) attack ability. The missile features an advanced electro-optical infrared homing seeker which scans the target area for hostile aircraft, then locks-on for terminal chase. With a total of eighteen control surfaces and careful design, the resulting missile is supposed to be as maneuverable as any other air-to-air missiles with thrust vectoring nozzles.[7] The Python-5 was first used in combat during the 2006 Lebanon War, when it was used by F-16 Fighting Falcons to destroy two Iranian-made Ababil UAVs used by the Hezbollah.[1]

  • Weight: 105 kg
  • Guidance: IR + electro-optical imaging

Smoke, i.e., particulate matter in the exhaust plume, has no bearing on the efficacy of IR homing missile. You are going off on a tangent.

Thanks. Hope life treats you well and the almighty continues to shower the choicest blessings on you and your loved ones.

I never left, only the level of idiocy has forced me to hover and move, rarely posting. Can not really be bothered of that.

And well, the 'heated' discussions ... for me they weren't. I have finally come out of the closet and my credentials are known to quite a few members here .... Indians and suspected by quite a few Pakistanis too. So, it is just a mere matter of knowing things as opposed to speculating.

I do learn a lot here, I do concede, but more so in non-defense related topics, with excellent members around. But it is becoming difficult to maintain your cool with idiots at every corner trying to derail you, like evident on this thread. Sigh!

Elsewhere I posted a redacted photo of myself .. sorely tempted to post it here :D

You will fit right in, in a C-47 :enjoy:

LOL.

Now you are giving away my age.

Wouldnt mind it if that means no more corruption ka GodFather running the show

Whatever the PAF officers have taken over and run, they have run brilliantly well. Just an impression. I am sure dozens of contrary examples are available.

Yes kind of but when they leave their remains create a mess so i kind of have mix feelings on this topic but my hatred for the GodFather is forcing me to look at option 2 as the lesser evil

What an idiotic response.

How does a slight smoke trail help an IR missile?

I was just teasing the kid. None of these celebrations deserve to exist. The Brits do it better, with their Memorial Day. It should be a day of solemn commemoration, and of bowing our heads in homage to the fallen, rather than a cheap, gimmicky tinsel-littered parade essentially for the pols to put in an appearance.
Well put Sire. There is certainly no point in celebrating.
BTW i do enjoy F-16s flying over my house making loops.

Threat Title, "F 16s are buzzing Lahore"

keep your brags out.

Thanks.

@Windjammer is there any Defence Day air show scheduled in Lahore? If yes then it's Ok, if not then it could be some exercise or some alert due to specific Intelligence report.
I understand that all the PAF activities will be held at respective airbases... in Lahore they usually have an exhibition in an open ground .
