China is so far ahead in armaments that they don't need to add anything more. For the next 10 years.
This will just send a message that distance is not a constraint for us. But that is all. I doubt the Chinese will even be bothered about it. Then there is the difference in stockpile of nuke warheads. China is giant in offensive weapons there as well.

'China killer' doesn't apply to china only,it possess a threat to Pakistan too.The rest you can figure out.

Even Pakistan possess nuclear warheads, all China need to send missiles with multiple warhead to Pakistan then India still face 2 nuclear nation border with India.
