I have a feeling that Awami League purposely arranging such press meeting in order to make grounds for Zia's trial. His grave from parliament premises will be removed by anyhow.

The family members of the military officers, who had fallen victim to ‘killer’ Ziaur Rahman’s conspiracy in 1977, demanded posthumous trial of Ziaur Rahman for killing their innocent near and dear ones.

They urged the government to declare the officials of the armed forces as innocent since they were persecuted illegally by ‘killer’ Ziaur Rahman through a heinous conspiracy.



In 1977, some of the military officers were hanged, some jailed and some were sacked by ‘killer’ Ziaur Rahman.


The family members of the victims formed a human chain in front of old Dhaka Central Jail in the capital on Friday and announced a seven-point demand, including trial of Ziaur Rahman.

They also urged the government to provide salaries, pension and other benefits payable to the victims. The families also demanded that the government trace the graves of the victims and install plaques inscribed with epitaph on the tombs.
