ERRA paid Rs 48 billion to earthquake survivors of NWFP, AJK: Chairman
ISLAMABAD: A sum of Rs 48 billion have so far been paid to around 350,000 families of NWFP and AJK, Chairman Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority (ERRA) Altaf M Saleem said.

Talking to PTV, he said 12,000 to 13,000 people were being compensated daily. Second tranche to affected people would only be paid after ensuring that money was being spent for right purpose.
ERRA has established 59 construction hubs across the affected areas of AJK and NWFP aiming to provide building material to the victims on controlled and cheap rates.
About 30,000 artisans have also been trained to avoid any shortage due to massive reconstruction activities.
He said 13 house reconstruction training centres have also been established for guiding people for quality reconstruction.
As many as 5,500 master trainers have completed their training for assisting the survivors to construct quality houses.

Four to five possible maps of re-building houses have also been widely distributed among the survivors to help them reconstruction of houses in accordance with prescribed procedure.
About 250,000 vulnerable families have been identified for providing monthly help to them.182,000 families have already been registered and being paid Rs 3,000 per month for next six months.A sum of Rs 4.5 billion has been allocated for the purpose.
A comprehensive data of affected families have been maintained in collaboration with NADRA for ensuring transparency.

Around 600,000 families of NWFP and AJK were affected by the earthquake. 6,000 km road network had also been destroyed by the earthquake.
More than 900 government buildings, 7,000 schools, more than 800 health related institutions had been destroyed by the earthquake.
