When i was in our capital a few days ago i walked past some statues of our emperors.

Its crazy how young some were when they became emperor.

Gaius Caesar Augustus Germanicus was 25 years old when he became emperor of the roman empire.

He was almost same age as i´m now and its really hard to imagine to have that political power.

He demanded over the largest and most advanced empire in the known world back then. The largest and most powerful military.

For many million people you are the symbol of the empire. But for many millions you are the symbol for their enslavement. Evry decission you make causes good things as well as bad things-

Emperor Marcus Aurelius once said he feels deep sorrow for the sadness some of his decissions brought on others.

I think it would be incredible hard to find something that binds you to earth.

It doesn't need much intelligence or maturity to run country like Italy, so it's ok.
You should never mention Italy in your post man. You very well know the consequences of doing that in the forum these days specially by you.;)

My commitment to TRUTH and HONESTY not respected by forum nowadays  . I swear they banned me just when people were beginning to call me 'light of asia' etc :disagree:

Important to put things into perspective.

The life span of a healthy male in those days was around 40.

So at 25 he was well past middle age.

Gotta stay around to see how things take shape.

@MarkusS BTW I'm reading Edward Gibbon's 'Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire'. It is clear to me why the decline and fall was well deserved and why it continues into 21st century.

Agustus got brains along with balls !

People laughed at him when he came to Rome and claimed the Julius Caesar throne as a rightful heir.

40 was the life expectancy back then its true.

But that was grossly affected by the extremely high infant and child mortality rates.

As soon as you made it to adulthood, you could expect to live way past 40. Its not like most people reached around 40 and suddenly died.

There were many other ways to die for those making it past infancy and childhood. Disease and war being primary. If an arrow did not get you, syphilis probably would.

Yah im just saying what I read including even those mortality rates (i.e they werent the ones that mostly brought the life expectancy to 40, it was the childhood mortalities that did so).

Dunno about that, Trajan was pretty badass too in his own way.

Crotch rocket speedsters are kinda cool too tho.....since it seems the italians seem somewhat incapable in handling their 4 wheelers ;)

My last sporting hero of my "generation" man.

Can't see anyone else I'd feel like following anymore anywhere.

Peter Sagan I like though. Kid has potential.
