B&T P26 submachine gun with stock extended Source: B&T
Swiss company B&T unveiled prototypes of the P26 submachine gun and compact TP380 carbine at the Enforce Tac exhibition in Nuremberg.
Both weapons are chambered in 9 mm cartridges, with serial production of both weapons to begin in April, and will be offered to customers in June 2015.
The P26 is a lightweight 2.3 kg straight blowback submachine gun chambered in 9x19 mm Parabellum with a 175 mm barrel. It fires from a closed bolt, with its construction being 60% polymer. The weapon is fed from 15, 20, 25, or 30 round translucent box magazines exchangeable with the previous B&T MP9 submachine gun. The P26 comes with a simple folding stock, integrated iron ghost ring sights, and four NATO STANAG 4694 accessory rails.
The TP380 is a compact semi-automatic carbine chambered in 9x17 mm Short (.380 ACP), weighing just 950 g and equipped with a folding stock. The weapon has a magazine well in the pistol grip to accept 15- or 30-round magazines. Its 128 mm barrel comes pre-threaded for attaching a suppressor.
The weapon will be also offered in the Russian 9x18 mm Makarov round widely used in former Eastern Bloc countries.
