According to reports, Employees of British Consulate abducted a 18 yrs old girl in Karachi and smuggled her out of the country without the tacit approval of the Govt authorities.

The individual in question was a british - Pakistani residing with her parents in Karachi. She was abducted without the knowledge of parents, nor state authorities were informed of this operation. This is clear violation of Diplomatic norms and laws of the land. No heed was paid to involve local authorities or seek assistance of Foreign Office before taking such a drastic step.

Foreign Office needs to call British high commissioner and protest against this illegal. act.

This is a developing story, the thread will be updated.

UK seem to be on a crusade against British women. If they are not growing acid on them in their country, they are abducting them in countries where they seek refuge from the colonial Beast.

Pakistan should offer democracy to Scotland and Ireland in post Brexit years ahead.
This episode has reminded me of sister Afia Siddiqui.

If she is a British National and an adult (18) and requests the aid of its govt (Britain) to return to UK for whatever reason ( Eg forced marriage of forced confinement ) . The UK govt is duty bound to aid her to get back to UK.
No doubt she can speak for herself from UK.

that does not mean kidnapping or flaunting conventions.

Keep setting these precedents. It will come back to haunt you in ways you wouldn't imagine.

That symbolic hoo haa will come.
But whose gonna ask comedian of an interior minister how are Pakistanis getting abducted and smuggled out so easily?

What next? Faisal Wowda requests Mi6 to rescue him from NAB?

In that case the BHC must inform Foreign Office, there has been such cases in the past. This case is fishy.

There is a reason why people like me would look away and keep silence when India gets nuked.

The hypocrisy of your wretched existence is something the world can do without.

*this in reference to your reactions in that Shamim Begum thread.

Do we have any further details of what and when this happened? How was she smuggled out!? Private jet?

If what Turin said is true then it is not a kidnapping or a violation, instead she is exercising her right as a sovereign British National. But let's wait for more sources on the news instead of speculating based on the Parents' testimony only.

This is ape culture not exercise of any sovereign right.

I would discuss legalities of invitation letters sent to Mohammad bin Qasim from Indian women in a separate thread at a separate time.

She was abducted without the knowledge of parents
Few things to note -

  • 18 year old is a adult
  • 18 year old does not need consent to travel from their parents
  • the said adult was a British national
Since this 18 year old expressed wish to go back to UK and as a adult had that right how can that be "abduction"? Do you even know what meaning of abduction is? Abduction is when you force a adult against their wishes or take a minor/child without the consent of their parent/guardian.

Since 18 year old British national is not a child and expressed wish [unless established otherwise] go back to UK how can this be possibly be "abduction"?

Of course if Pakistan now wants to open another front with another country go ahead by all means. Chances are the crazy media will now fire up crazed mobs causing another international spectacle and source of not needed negative publicity that this event will bring. Then people wonder why the fcuk Pakistan has such bad image.

Said individual was a Pakistani national & residing in Pakistan. Since no one enjoyed the status of Diplomat hence had to abide by the local laws.
now, to enlighten yourself Kidnapping / Abduction under Pakistani law:

[365-A. Kidnapping or abduction for extorting property, valuable security, etc.--Whoever kidnaps or abducts any person for the purpose of extorting from the person kidnapped or abducted, or from any person interested in the person kidnapped or abducted, any property, whether movable or immovable, or valuable security, or to compel any person to comply with any other demand, whether in cash or otherwise, for obtaining release of the person kidnapped or abducted, shall be punished with (death or) imprisonment for life and shall also be liable to forfeiture of property.]

issue is not whether a girl wanted to go back to her own country, issue is failure of British consulate to follow due process. State Police or FOreign Office had to be involved in order to ensure rights of this "British"-"Pakistani" were protected.

We have received confirmation that Authorities were not taken on board

few thing to add from PPC:

4.Consent:
Consent of minor, in case of kidnapping, is entirely immaterial. Consent, if freely and voluntarily given, condones abduction.

I don't think it's an abduction
Most likely the girl a UK born asked to be taken to UK to avoid forced marriage by her family

For this you have to establish if the said person was forced. How do you know that the person CHOSE of their own volition?

Is 18 year old a minor in Pakistani law?
just trying to share the law here same as you do....
as mentioned in O.P, it is a developing story, we are trying to get more details on the case.
The issue being highlighted here is that Diplomatic protocol was not followed & someone was moved out of the country without knowledge of State authorities.
Brits are involved in human trafficking, whats next for them, narcotics smuggling?
