The Bodo miltants are part of the Bodo tribals.

They don't want outsiders coming to their land.

Their ire is mainly directed against Bengali Muslims and Muslim settlers. as well as outsiders.

This is pretty much the after effect from the 1980's of the Nellie massacre, where around 3000 Muslims were killed.

Bodo seperatists blame the Indian government for letting outsiders take their land, and changing the demography.

Seven killed in militant attack in Assam's Kokrajhar

GUWAHATI: Seven people, including two children and four women, were killed on Friday in an attack by suspected NDFB (Songbijit) militants in a village in Kokrajhar under Bodoland Territorial Administrative District (BTAD) of Assam.

A group of heavily armed extremists swooped down on two houses in Balaparajan Village-1 under Goreswar police station at around 1am and opened indiscriminate fire, killing 7 persons on the spot, IGP L R Bishnoi told PTI.

The two injured men have been admitted to a hospital in a serious condition, he said.

A joint combing operation by the police and paramilitary forces has been launched in the area to track down the assailants, official sources said.

Last night, another group of NDFB-S ultras in Baksa district of BTAD had gunned down three persons, including two women, and injured an infant.
