QUETTA: At least eight people among them an elder of Marri tribe were killed in landmine blast and rocket attack took place in Marwar coalmine area of Balochistan late on Thursday night.
Levies sources confirmed to APP that eight persons were killed in land mine blast and rocket attack carried out by unidentified armed men in Marwar area. The armed men targeted the convoy of a tribal elder of Baloch Marri tribe when it reached Marwar area, they said, adding that resulting in death of eight men including the tribal elder, Mir Gul Khan Bajarani, his two relatives and his five guards. The convoy was on the way from the village of Bajarani Marri to Marwar area. They said that the vehicle of Mir Gul Khan Bajarani was hit by a landmine blast planted in the area and as a result, he along with his two close relatives died on the spot. Soon after the landmine blast, armed men fired a rocket from the mountains which hit the vehicle of guards of Mir Bajarani, due to which his five security guards seated in the vehicle were killed, a Levies Force official said. The assailants managed to escape from the scene.
