Finally good news we got rid of sensless idiot ehsan mani who destroyed pakistan cricket by appoiniting worst cricket coach of entire cricketing history of past and of future misbah ul haq we were number 1 in T 20 4th in odi and 5 th in test match ranking

When misbah was pak captain we all knew what he did keep playing defensive mindset players

In his coaching our team webt to become a ninnow team he keep sekecting players like azher ali who take 100 balls for his 20 runs

Abid ali, faheem ashraf keep playing after failures

Humble request to ramiz raja ban misbah waqar and ehsan mani entering in pcb infact ban them from all types of cricket

.
Bad news is that he's being replaced by an ever bigger idiot with proven record of failure...Like in all things corporate, people usually fail up...

Problem with us is we look at the top to get things fixed.....It's not PCB but government's policy and budget on sports that will fix the problem....invest at grass-root level....deliver better players for 1st class cricket and then based on merit select them for the national team.....Managers/Directors cannot fix the mess. The current situation is as Americans say in Texas..." All hats and no cattle".

I think Ramiz Raja will be daring Chairman of PCB. He will be able to make changes in the overall structure of the teams at domestic level and create an environment where talented cricketers are given fair opportunity to perform at top level

We need better coaches I agree

I stopped watching cricket from when we start losing in one sided fashion to our arch rivals … just lost interest …

Yeah like he's daring with his verbal diarrhea in the commentary box, or when he's routinely mixing up players and their stats or when he's totally clueless on the happenings on the field, game strategies or any insightful analysis...

Ramiz has been a beneficiary of nepotism from the very beginning of his career, he had no business playing for Pakistan in the first place given his atrocious record and even less so for 15 years and 57 test matches. His previous stint as CEO was a mess and a case study in conflict of interest which he was breaching right and left. He didn't make any worthwhile contributions then and kick started the demise of Pakistan cricket throughout the oughts and teens.

Our cricket suffered due to terrorism, we had no international team visits, then on top had corruption and favouritism. Our entire sport culture needs to be changed. As you mentioned we need grass root level investment, every city needs to have a decent pitch, local teams are needed, then national and then international. We need international team visits, back in the days Team B used to visit aswell and this gave our players a chance to show their talent against international players. I remember Muhammad Asaf playing against England for Pakistan B team and he demolished England. Straight away he proved that he was a international talent. Currently our domestic league is not competitive, corruption by Mohammad Asaf, Amir, Salman butt hit us. These issues definitely hit the sport hard. I doubt any changes will take place, I've been waiting since 2003. Its not the difficulty of making changes but the will and honesty, do we have those people? Jeff Lawrence a good cricket coach was sacked once the new government was formed, he made the statement after about political corruption in sport, he tried to remove Shaid Afridi but Afridi had meetings in Islamabad with political leaders and was back in the team.

Our sport culture is a 150% mess

I go back home a lot of my male relatives are at or over 6ft and physically look good not malnourished or some thing

But none of em are in any sports, it's video games, education or some other bs where you just have "sit"

In any other country they'll be playing some sorted of sport, in US coaches literally beg these individuals to play thier sport

But our sport culture is dying nowadays,

Imagine seeing a dude who looks like wasim Akram sitting on his a** playing video games or watching Netflix for entertainment purposes, it's soul crushing to see

All the natural gifts going to waste, I am sure this is something common, it's not physical prowess, in that front we are good enough, it's the damn culture:(

In AJK volley ball is a big thing, nearly every young boy is playing it but cricket is dying slowly. In the UK many uk born Ajk origin people are playing sports but if they stayed in Ajk then our sport leaders would be saying no talent in Ajk. Gaming and netflix is not there yet but Facebook and perving is up there.

But y'all are country people but no one will focus on country side as our infrastructure is t good enough to reach that talent

It's a catch 101

Country people have decent sports culture, physicality but no infrastructure to reach em

Urban infrastructure is somewhat there (by Pak standards) but the sports culture is dying out

There will be no future of games until government itself takes the initiative by supporting school players. I wish someone to implement this plan:
  • Scholarships for such students
  • Regular tournaments and promotion of games
  • Internships for good performers
  • Introduce sports degree programs (study and spots side by side)

My 17 years old cousin is a very good bowler.

One day uncle(his father) discussed it with me that he is not as good in studies as in cricket. I tried every way to stop him from playing (beating, threating etc).
I requested and convinced him to let his son play as there will be many institution supporting him in future.

Our community consider sports as waste of time but they don't know the importance form physical fitness.

Blaming is very easy. I personally don't know anyone supporting his child to be an athlete/sportsman.
