Ehsaas programme being enhanced from Rs144bn to Rs203bn - Pakistan - DAWN.COM

ISLAMABAD: Amid adverse impact of the coronavirus on the poor and people belonging to low-income groups, the government has decided to enhance the Ehsaas Emergency Cash programme from Rs144 billion to Rs203bn.

Under the first phase of the programme [of Rs144 billion] 12 million families were provided four-month stipend of Rs12,000. Now with the increase in its funds the programme will facilitate around 17m families.

“It means that almost half of the population of the country will be covered under the programme,” said Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Safety and Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar at a press conference on Thursday.

Why didnt they expand baitulmal instead of creating a new system. Baitul mal could have been made into a mega non profit giant to dispense social welfare benefits.
Anyways cant trust the corrupt nishtar family to even run this effeciently.

i am still ok no need fake state image . we are new nation and we are in phase of construction . its all fine to having all type of opinions and people . i don't believe in fake image even its beautiful . rather i like to having ugly but true image of nation .

You are confusing two diff issues.
My question is simply about the need of another system when an old one could have been improved. PPP came with utility stores and Bisp pti comes with ehsas, God knows who else will come up with more. This is lack of focus on one thing.

About negativity. Pakistanis lack nationalism for various reasons be it ethnic or sectarian and we live in a corrupt society ruled by incompetents.
So this is a diff issue. Please dont mix the two.

But Khan is not doing anything wrong. If he did, we Insafians are the first to tell him to change course.

In my humble opinion khan should take the country towards presidential form of govt slowly or at a pace suitable to him. Whether the military establishment allows him is another issue.
Opposition has now become anti pakistan and their ultimate aim is to break this country so we dont need this type of opposition.

Pakistan cant go on like this.
