Efforts of WAPDA are underway to construct of Diamer-Basha dam mega project.
According to WAPDA officials‚ out of 37‚419 acres of land‚ 20‚400 acres have been acquired and compensation paid to the affectees.
Sources said Diamer Basha-Dam would be 272 meters high.
Two hydropower house of 4500 megawatt capacity dam would be constructed within nine years.
WAPDA is constructing an official colony‚ three model villages to provide residence to dam affectees and 35 kilometer portion of Karakoram Highway from Shatyal to Chilash.
