EC reserves verdict on Zardaris eligibility case
Updated at: 1445 PST, Thursday, February 25, 2010
ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Hamid Ali Mirza has reserve the decision in a plea against the eligibility of President Asif Ali Zardari to hold the office.
Justice Mirza while taking up a petition by Maulvi Iqbal Haider challenging the eligibility of the president, said presidential election has constitutional indemnity and could not be challenged. If President Zardari is a convicted person than courts decision should be provided.
Mr Haider opted a view that NAB hide the evidences against Zardari and because of this Supreme Court had issued the directives of removal of chairman NAB.
