I do know that they were not Hindu, there are few temples and artifacts of Hinduism, but there are many Buddhist and the prevalent religion was a form of ancestor worship.
There's that famous denial kicking in again.....
Everyone was Hindu in those lands....even Gautam Buddha was Hindu....so no matter what....your ancestors (whoever they may be), if were natives ie. people of the land had to be Hindu at some point....
If you're claiming they're not, then you're the product of an invasion.....ie. exported from CAR, S. Arabia, or Turkey/Mongolia....
