Fifty Fifty was perhaps the most watched, loved and best ever produced comedy serial of Pakistan Television (PTV) history. It was a classic of early 1980's and since then PTV has not been able to produce a tv serial of this calibre and quality comedy and entertainment.
The cast of fifty fifty included Ismail Tara, Majid Jahangir, Zeba Shehnaz, Ashraf Khan, Bushra Ansari and many others. Shoaib Mansoor directed the trendsetting serial. At the time it was aired on PTV, it was perhaps the best comedy serial of the Indian subcontinent including India and Pakistan televisions. It was a humorous sattirical attempt to highlight the problems and situations faced by ordinary people in almost all aspects of their daily lives in Pakistan. Those who had watched it live at its time in the 80's would still agree, it was the best serial PTV has ever aired to date.
I would say fifty-fifty to Pakistanis is like Sienfeld to Americans. Here are some of the lovely clips from the PTV classic Fifty Fifty. Most of them are still valid as people are still facing the same problems even after almost 25 or 30 years.
