RAW’s anti-Muslim campaign

India has a long gone history of many centuries, based upon religious prejudice and ethnic antagonism against Muslims. In this regard, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the spy agency of India which was created in 1968, has assumed a significant status as invisible actor in formulation of India’s domestic, regional and global policies, particularly directed against Muslims. Fundamentalist Hindus give credit to Indira Gandhi who in the late 1970s gave RAW a new role to suit her Indira Doctrine specifically asking it to undertake covert operations in neighboring countries especially Pakistan which comprises majority of Muslims. RAW was given a green signal to mobilise all its resources by exploiting political turmoil in East Pakistan in 1971 which RAW had created through its agents who provided Bengalis arms and ammunition for conducting guerrilla acts against the Pakistani defence forces.
Asoka Raina in his book, ‘Inside RAW: The Story of India’s Secret Service’, reveals that RAW’s officers used Bengali refugees to set up Mukti Bahini. Using this outfit as a cover, Indian military sneakeddeep into East Pakistan. The story of Mukti Bahini and RAW’s role in its creation and training is now well-known. However, this agency played a key role in the dismembermet of Pakistan as part of its anti-Muslim campaign. After the creation of Bagladesh, surprisingly, RAW has also created another insurgency force: The Shanti Bahini (Fighters for Peace). The agency has been involved in training rebels of Chakma tribes (Hindu and Buddhists tribesmen) and Shanti Bahini to carry out subversive activities in Bangladesh.
Since 9/11 tragedy, when India decided to join the US war on terror, RAW became proactive in availing the western anti-Muslim enterprise and world phenomena of terrorism. In collusion with CIA, Mossad and Khad, Indian spy agency played a vital clandestine role in arresting and torturing the suspected Muslims in India, Afghanistan and other western countries. Particularly, Indo-Israeli lobbies in the US and Europe have intensified their anti-Muslim and anti-Pakistan campaign with the backing of their secret agencies. Covertly these lobbies with the help of their secret agencies have introduced dangerous socio-religious dimension in the west and their societies by equating the “war on terror” with “war on Islam” and acts of Al Qaeda with all the Muslims. Being the only Islamic nuclear country, Pakistan has become special target of RAW, which in turn is being supported by CIA and Mossad. World Media, backed by Indo-Israeli lobbies has left no stone unturned in tarnishing the good image of Pakistan in the comity of nations.
Negative impact of RAW’s hidden agenda against Islamabad could be judged from last six months which witnessed a number of false allegations of US, India and Afghanistan against Pak army and our intelligence agency, ISI for supporting cross border terrorism in Afghanistan, Kashmir and Indian cities through bombblasts including terrorist’s training camps in the tribal areas. The game behind self-fabricated stories of RAW has recently been exposed in connection with the suicide attack on the Indian embassy in Kabul. Afghan president Hamid Karzai and Indian Army Chief Gen Deepak Kapoor blamed that Pakistan’s ISI could be involved. On the other hand, US herself said that there was no evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in that bombing. In fact, Indian spy agency itself arranged bombing of the Indian embassy to manipulate the incident in keeping ISI defensive and to distort the image of Pakistan. Besides, RAW has also used the event as an excuse to move more troops to Kabul. Now, India has decided to send 150,000 military troops in Afghanistan.
Since Pakistan military operations started on June 29, 2008, in the tribal regions and adjoining cities, resistance by the militants still continues especially in Bajaur Agency where huge arms and ammunition have continuously been supplied by RAW agents from Afghanistan. Indian Border Road Organization (BRO) is being used in facilitating weapons to the anti-Pakistan agents. New Delhi has established more than 20 foreign offices and 200 training camps in Afghanistan where RAW’s intelligence officials with the help of Khad, are doing their utmost to destabilise Pakistan by sending weapons to the separatist elements in Balochistan and particularly to the insurgents of FATA regions. In Wakhan, a religious Madrassa of the Indian Muslim clerics is functioning under the patronage of RAW and Mossad. Very young boys including Afghans recruits are mostly Uzbeks, Tajiks and Caucasians who also come from Central Asia, bordering Afghanistan. Thus more than 20,000 ideologically motivated terrorists and suicide bombers have been trained in Afghanistan and are being regularly infiltrated into troubled spots of Pakistan. Posing as volunteers, they join the Taliban militants to fight against Pakistan’s security forces. They have been destroying girl’s schools, video shops and other installations including brutal beheading of captured personnel. These miscreants also conducted a number of suicide attacks and bombblasts in Pakistan, killing a number of innocent persons and personnel of the security forces.
Apart from previous sectarian incidents in Pakistan, in Kurram Agency, RAW’s Afghan gents are actively involved in the sectarian conflict by providing arms to Shias belonging to Tori tribe and thus fighting against Sunnis. However, their main intrigue is to create chaos in our country and also to defame the peace loving Pushtun. Even in Afghanistan, acting upon the old policy of divide and rule, it is owing to the tactics of RAW that Muslims are killing the Muslims either they belong to Afghan forces or Taliban. RAW’s anti-Muslim campaign sharpens as violence takes some other dimensions inside India. As regards the current phase of Indian state terrorism, it began on August 12, 2008 when Indian forces killed Hurriyat Conference leader Sheikh Abdul Aziz in the occupied Kashmir. At present, indefinite curfews, crackdowns and killings by the Indian security forces keep on going against the non-violent mass uprising of Kashmiris. More than 300 innocent people have so far been killed by the Indian forces in the few weeks.
Nevertheless, since 1989, Indian military troops backed by RAW’s clandestine help have been using all inhuman tactics of ethnic cleansing to disturb the majority population of the Kashmiris. Such tactics like destroying villages, burning houses etc. amount to blatant brutality, which had been practised by the Serb forces on Bosnian and Kosovar Muslims in the past.
Recently, hundreds of unidentified graves with at least 940 bodies have been discovered in the Indian-held Kashmir. Sources suggest that most of them had died in the custody through cruel methods of torture by the Indian spy agency, RAW. RAW has also been playing with the bloodshed of Muslim community by encouraging the Hindu fundamentalists in massacring Muslims. In the latest event of butchery on September 13, the wave of communal riots emerging from Azamgarh has been sweeping across eastern Uttar Pradesh, killing more than 100 Muslims intermittently.
In Assam, Hindus murdered more than 25 settlers from Bangladesh on October 4 this year. In one of the most tragic incidents, Hindu rioters burnt alive six members of a Muslim family on October 12 in a village of southern India of Hyderabad. It is notable that more than 2000 Muslims were killed between February and May of 2002 in the Indian state of Gujarat where very horrible scenes of tragic events such as arson, mutation, rape and burning the houses were perpetrated against the unarmed Muslims. Both Human Rights Watch in its report of 2002 and Amnesty International charged the “Gujarat state administration” for involvement in “a massive cover-up of the state’s role in the massacres” and that of the Sangh Parivar, VHP, BJP, Shiv Sena and Bajrang Dal leaders as participants in the brutalities. In fact militants of these fundamentalist organizations are being supported by RAW. It is of particular attention that the anti-Muslim campaign of the Hindutva (Hindu nationalism) has been intensified by RAW’s agents who have been penetrated in Indian government departments.
This ideology of Hindu fundamentalism has been encouraged by the government officials, manifesting itself in several forms such as dominance of Hindu culture, ethnic violence, religious fervour and intolerance of Muslims.
