Dollar price on the rise in Bangladesh

I actually think in next 5 years, it would be hard to maintain the growth story of textiles for Bangladesh. Unless you diversify the production, I don't see how FDI happens even with cheaper taka. Your consumption numbers also have to improve for others to take notice. BBS statistics can create a narrative in Bangladesh but business are not fools to not see through it. Hence the abysmal FDI.
However, contrary to what you believe about the BD market, our people are not misers. Traditionally, they have a trend to spend a lot if they have money. So, there will not be a shortage of customers in the country if FDIs produce goods here.

However, since FDI companies want their goods to be produced cheaper for export, they will find BD to be an investment destination if the local currency is quite cheap against dollars.

I think Tk100 to a dollar will lure them to BD shores. With cheap labor costs, the FDI products in BD will get a good market abroad.

Nothing about your consumption gives the idea of you people not being misers. India consumes every thing in multiples of 10's already. Your opinions doesn't matter really as if there was a market you would have seen companies vying to enter your country already. That is not happening as anybody can see your consumption numbers.

Only currency value doesn't determine the business interest to set up shop as otherwise all businesses would have already moved from China to India. Also Bangladesh is poorly placed in terms of exports as only advantage it has is of the LDC not infrastructure or educated workforce. Once that goes, Bangladesh has to open its economy as FTA's are give and take and not just take. Then the Bangladeshi industry will see the real competition, and the level of your workforce competence at the global level. All democracies are worse off at this.

Does that make you feel better - Rajoo? Makes you cope?

Then fine, be that way...

Bangladesh infra (ports, road networks and river network-wise) is way better than India, despite land and construction costs way more than India due to terrain.

Only thing better in India as far as Infra is rail network because you have to carry people in large numbers and cheaply too. That is about it.

And we don't have educated people in Bangladesh?

What dung heap in India are you from, that you lack these clues? Do you even Google - or just issue brain farts?

Your port network is better? Don't make me laugh. Road networks? Haha.
