New Delhi: With the Opposition uniting to target the government over the demonetisation drive, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to directly seek views from the citizens of the country on whether they have been inconvenienced by the decision to ban Rs 500/1000 notes.
PM Modi tweeted: “I want your first-hand view on the decision taken regarding currency notes. Take part in the survey on the NM App. http://nm4.in/dnldapp”.

Some the questions PM Modi has asked in the 'demonetisation survey' are:

Do you think black money exists in India?
Do you think the evil of corruption and black money needs to be fought and eliminated?
What do you think of the Modi government's move of banning old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes?
Do you have any suggestions, ideas or insights you would like to share with PM Narendra Modi?
Did you mind the inconvenience faced in the fight to curb corruption, black money, terrorism, counterfeiting of currency?

The PM launched the survey on a day when the Opposition has closed ranks to hit out at the government, claiming that the common man has been severely inconvenienced by demonetisation.

Do you agree? Here's your chance to speak out!

The survey is available on the NaMo App. All that you need to do is to download the App. Let the PM know your views.

Mate I don't believe people speak or vote genuinely, so just here to learn as much I can. Thank you.

Over 80 percent don’t mind inconvenience of demonetisation
NEW DELHI: The demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes+ is being seen positively by a large part of the population cutting across the lines of age, income levels and area of residence, a nationwide survey conducted by C-Voter has suggested. A whopping 80-86 percent of those surveyed said the inconvenience caused by the demonetisation is worth the effort+ of combating black money.

C-Voter, an international polling agency headquartered in India, conducted its survey in close to half the total parliamentary constituencies on Monday.

The wide-ranging support for the demonetisation cut across the barriers of categorisation. The numbers remained consistently high when broken down on the basis of area of residence, income levels or by age groups.

A landslide 86 percent of the respondents living in urban and rural areas said the inconvenience was worth it. This was 80.6 percent in semi-urban areas. The highest level of support however seems to come from those from the higher income group, 90.6 percent of whom said the move is worth it. Also tellingly, the lowest level of support in the 'below 25', 25-45, 45-60 and 60+ was 83.3 percent.

A picture of broad support also emerged for those who thought the demonetisation was a 'good move and equally well implemented'. This sentiment was reflected in 71 percent of those surveyed in urban areas, 65.1 percent in semi-rural zones and 59.4 percent of rural respondents.
onversely, 23.8 percent of urban, 24.3 percent of semi-urban and 36 percent of rural respondents agreed with the charge of some opposition parties+ that demonetisation was a 'good step but poorly implemented'.

Significant pluralities of the respondents also said the problems caused by the demonetisation were 'little, easily manageable'. This was reflected by 38 percent in urban, 35.5 percent in semi-urban areas and 36.8 percent in rural belts.
The difficulties that the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes were perceived as an 'unmanageable disaster' by about 12.6 percent. However, rising income levels saw a fall in the number of people who saw the situation as disastrous - 4.4 percent of high income group, 12.6 percent of middle income group and 15.1 percent of the lower income group respondents.

Well over 55 percent of those polled thought support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi would take a beating if he succumbs to political pressure and rolls back the demonetisation of the currency. This view was held by 62.6 percent in urban, 67.3 percent in semi-urban and 54.8 percent in rural pockets.

This is exactly why you didn't add a poll on this thread.

Mate my work is very closely attached to NPCI/VISA/Master Card and one of my primary goal is to enforce PCI standards throughout the banks offering services in India, though in a minor way we enforce same role on some neighboring countries and some middle Eastern countries banking system. So yes I know there are loopholes which many "bankers" are trying to misuse, some are caught and some are not. Even yesterday there was a similar transaction done, these things can not be done in secrecy as every transaction is recorded at end, no matter what whoever says otherwise. Black money is truth and we Indians have to fight it. There is no other option. Being pro modi from the day he was elected PM, is not being anti India as he is our prime minister, once he leaves his post, that respect will be reserved asis kept for all previous pm. Designation is important, person dependency is bad. Why pro RSS because I came to know now only that I had studied in a school run by RSS with equality being foremost important factor. Plus they are the only organized body we have to put our viewpoint in media. Why anti bajrang dal or vhp because they are non productive and work only like a blind bull. Another reason is given in second post. And last but not least after doing 10 hours of such difficult financial work I don't have much time to do this thing. I love spreading knowledge and same love to read others.

The day you realize that it's not about black money, is the day you'll realize why you were taken for a ride. Until then do keep indulging in blind jingoism, and showing the world who you guys really are.

The dip is expected to be around 1% or less . That is from 7.4% to 6.5% at worst.

Though, you should know that in the long run it is supposed to be very very beneficial to the Indian economy. This is being compared to a bitter medicine. Short term pain for long term gain.

Already something amazing has happened. PayTM - one of India's digital wallet apps has recorded more transactions than the combined debit + credit card transactions in the entire country.

So, you should actually be against this move if you wish for damage to India. Nation's take action looking at decades ahead, not a few quarters or 1 years. This is one of those moves.

Lot of people here presume to allude that they know abcd of most of the industries, and in that they tend to make generalized comments which when backfires, it hurts, really. P:)

Reaching in conclusion before even q3 results are announced will be not mature. Let's wait for q3 results. Modi has litterlly played gamble with this blocking of old notes, if it goes right way, Indian economy will jump at least two percent due to GST rollout also, however if it goes bad it will take its toll on GST incremental rate.
