My father used... for writing his book. He had an electric typewriter. I use Das Keyboard with cherry MX mechanical keys that give similar experience :)

He has written one book about the history of our family. The other he is currently is his experience .. you can say biography but he says it is not biography but he has not allowed any of us to read it yet.
Both of my parents used computers so their home has many old dinosaurs like Dec alpha, old Apple-II, Macintosh, Commodore 64 and Sinclaire...placed in the storage room :)

When I was 20 I had joined a nearby "Business coaching institute" where I learned to typewrite at I think 75 words per minute.

I never learn't how to type. I just used one hand and still to this day use one hand. I firsttyped around 1979 with a manual typewriter, the ones that make the 'clack' sound and used it for school work. Then when I began work in about 1983 in office we had secretaries who used electric typos. These were just like manual but with electrical power and a small display. I used these on odd occasions. The next time I came near a keyboard was late 1990s with PC. And I used the old ingrained habit of using one hand, which is what I am using right now.

Typing and Typists as a skill and profession is dying off most folks my age are like you type with one hand it wont help once AI and other grammar tools improve that make typing skills a thing of the past kinda shame as it makes writing skills and standards sub-par at best

Real men use clay tablets.

Looks like we got Babylonian here

You type with one hand on computers? I type with both hands, but my finger placement is wrong I think.
