Do internet forums increase hate??

I started this thread coz i feel few changes in my self towards the people of other countries since i have joined this forum.Some times it frustrates even at the time of job and i joined another forum and i found my self talking with same view which i got while communicating on this forum.

i think,people on the forum represent their nations and they learn about people of other countries by taking idea from forums.

Do u feel same or not??

Whereas in real life, they would not say such things, because they don't want to handle the consequences.

Ask the Indian minorities in Hong Kong, if they would openly say the things that they say on this forum (slanty-eyed ch*nk etc) in a city with 99% Chinese people.

To be frank no my nature my view point has not changed at all it is still the same i dont spend much time on forums and this is the only forum which i visit

Imho they do ...since anonymity goes hand-in-hand with the internet , many people use these forums as a readily available outlet for their pent-up frustrations at work or life , and the easiest way is to take potshots at other ethnicities,religions, nationalities for some cheap thrills and entertainment.
That coupled by the fact that browsing is such an addictive , convenient pastime slowly changes your outlook. Interacting too much with company of the "bad sort" transforms one's refinement and civility into crudeness of behavior and vocab.

Almost everyone starts of with courtesy and politeness and within a few months of posting changes his entire demeanour .

I believe the best idea is to have a balance between your "virtual" social life and your "real" one .

It depends on your emotional maturity, logical thinking and strengthlweakness of nerves. If anonymous internet chracters with phony names can control your temper, then you have a very weak personality.

I am pretty kool in the sense that nothing affects me. You can abuse me in front of 100 people and I'll keep laughing, knowing that I am not a remote controlled device, which can be controlled by someones foul language. It's me whol controls my temper, It's me who controls my behavior. Conversly I use the same technique (not just the foul language, there are other fine details) to control and exploit others. in short always remember Anger is your enemy, when you are angry, some one else is controlling you.

Depends if your weak enough to take crap at heart. 95% of the time, I doubt you'll ever find people badmouthing another religion/race/ethnicity as compared to forums or even other online sites like YouTube, topix and social sites.

Yeah I wonder if Chinese members would also call Indians the insults listed below to our faces, especially those living in West Bengal. The chances of that is pretty low

That user "Pakchina" has the flag of origin set as "Pakistan", and his location is set as Lahore. But nice try.

Anyway, I never use that word, even on the internet.

Of course, if I wanted to, I could easily call the lone Indian minorities in Hong Kong that word, without any fear of retaliation at all. But I hate racism on principle, I don't even say it on internet forums.

You guys on the other hand are also free to call Northeast Indians "chinkis" all the time. And you do that with reckless abandon and joy.

Buddy, you Indians refer to ALL the Northeastern Indians as "chinkis" to start with.

So obviously, if you can use that word to refer to your fellow countrymen, you won't have a problem using it against outsiders.

No wonder the NE insurgents and the Maoists hate you guys so much. They take it out on your soldiers and your police forces (who at least are armed and so can defend themselves).
