New Delhi: Chinese products are over-ruling Indian market but it seems that these companies do not have any respect for the flag of the country in which they are spreading their wings.

An incident has been observed in which a Chinese company has sent shoes packed in a box made of Indian flag. The incident is of Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh where the company send the shoes in boxes made of tricolor which surely indicates the public humiliation of national flag.

According to some sources, the merchandisers are trying to woo customers with tri colour but sending shoes in such boxes is surely disgraceful.

As quoted by Jagaran, Himanshu Mishra, co-media person of state, BJP, says that if any such thing has happened then this is national insult and issue will be taken forward to Centre.

According to law, whoever in any public place or in any other place within public view burns, mutilates, defaces, defiles, disfigures, destroys, tramples upon or otherwise shows disrespect to or brings into contempt (whether by words, either spoken or written, or by acts) the Indian National Flag or the Constitution of India or any part thereof, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.

I'm not familiar with Indian cultural nuances, but I wouldn't consider this offensive. That's just me, perhaps you are different though.

Flags shows ours identity and to which nation we belongs. Have you ever saw why on International organizations like UN, ours Flags are being hoisted.

Why on international event like Olympics , Flags are hoisted ?

There is a small thing called the "Law" in India that determines the Flag Code. It states,

The flag should never be used as a cloth to cover tables, lecterns, podiums or buildings, or be draped from railings.

Further more the constitution of India says,

"Whoever in any public place or in any other place within public view burns, mutilates, defaces, defiles, disfigures, destroys, tramples upon or otherwise shows disrespect to or brings into contempt (whether by words, either spoken or written, or by acts) the Indian National Flag or the Constitution of India or any part thereof, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to

That is British law, in India we have Indian law.

FLAG CODE OF INDIA, 2002

The Indian National Flag represents the hopes and aspirations of the people of India. It is the symbol of our national pride. Over the last five decades, several people including members of armed forces have ungrudgingly laid down their lives to keep the tricolour flying in its full glory.

There is universal affection and respect for, and loyalty to the National Flag. Yet, a perceptible lack of awareness is often noticed, not only amongst people but also in the organisations/ agencies of the Government, in regard to laws, practices and conventions that apply to the display of the National Flag. Hoisting and use (including misuse and insult) of the National Flag is regulated by the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act, 1950; the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971; and Flag Code – India.

‘Flag Code-India’ is neither a statute nor a statutory rule or regulation. It is, in reality, a mere consolidation of executive instructions issued by the Government of India from time to time and contains detailed instruction in regard to the shape, size and colour of the National Flag, the correct display, instances of misuse and display on National Days or special occasions.

And now, Flag Code of India, 2002 is an attempt to bring together all such laws, conventions, practices and instructions for the guidance and benefit of all concerned.

For the sake of convenience, Flag Code of India, 2002 has been divided into three parts. Part I of the code contains general description of the National Flag. Part II of the Code is devoted to the display of the National Flag by members of public, private organizations and educational institutions. Part III of the Code relates to display of the National Flag by Central and State governments and their organisations and agencies.

Sweet! That post was offensive to 1.3 billion Indians

That's not my point, mate. You were buttmad that the post offended Indians right? Well, you're post insulted Indians too. If anything, your foolish attempt at responding to a troll backfired and you came back to where you started.
