It is nice to know how many people in PDF actually served in either in the military or in the diplomatic corps. Go ahead and cast your vote.

May Allah bless you with a healthy and prosperous life.Sadly no, I am still in that point of life of deciding what I want do still, I am part time working and in school for a bit, tho I have an interests in working in media,or something related to international diplomacy, I cant join the PAF as I was born outside of Pakistan and I heard the process of joining as a foreign diaspora person is quite difficult and you will always be viewed as an "outsider" I would "never" serve in the Armed Forces of the heart of Imperialism the United States of America or work in its Foreign Services tho in the past I was thinking of career in the Foreign Service heck bought a book to study for the exam but the foreign policy of Washington D.C just pushes me away from going that direction, I have internd and worked on political campaigns, Federal and State but electoralism here flawed the lobby groups be it corporate,or of foreign nations run the show here so any interests in running for office here had been put on standby for now tho I did ran for local office here wont boast about it here as much you can google that if you want, for me its just saving money and traveling hopefully soon
It is Ok. You can always have a military/diplomatic figure as a mentor outside/inside your current profession. The learning process requires a good mentor at some stage.Sadly no, I am still in that point of life of deciding what I want do still, I am part time working and in school for a bit, tho I have an interests in working in media,or something related to international diplomacy, I cant join the PAF as I was born outside of Pakistan and I heard the process of joining as a foreign diaspora person is quite difficult and you will always be viewed as an "outsider" I would "never" serve in the Armed Forces of the heart of Imperialism the United States of America or work in its Foreign Services tho in the past I was thinking of career in the Foreign Service heck bought a book to study for the exam but the foreign policy of Washington D.C just pushes me away from going that direction, I have internd and worked on political campaigns, Federal and State but electoralism here flawed the lobby groups be it corporate,or of foreign nations run the show here so any interests in running for office here had been put on standby for now tho I did ran for local office here wont boast about it here as much you can google that if you want, for me its just saving money and traveling hopefully soon

I know where @Old School is going here he wants rustle the "jimmies" of the arm chair generals here who think they are smarter than everyone and think they should be "running" Pakistan and its foreign and defense policy
Oh yes I am good friends with some people who served in both Pak and US Armed Forces, a distant uncle of mine who I met once was Col. with the PAF now is some rector at some uni over there, interesting those who I met who served in the US Armed Forces later become against the "US Imperial" policies of if not critical of certain recent conflicts minus the "Fox Cheerleaders" or Chump supporters
I would have loved to serve in Airforce but i don't think people with glasses can serve in Airforce.
I think we need some time to evolve.Hey at least you can serve Pakistan while I cant unless through bureaucratic nonsense diaspora have to go through not fair Israel,Turkey,Greece, Armenia ,Iran, South Korea allow their diasporas in their armed forces they are many Pakistanis abroad who would love to serve in the PAF but the bureacratic nature of things prevent them from doing so
The sad part is that many senior military/diplomatic figures are not interested in sharing their knowledge online even with hidden identity. Therefore, people are being misled by half educated and inexperienced journalists with their half cooked journalism.
U need to be born in Pakistan to serve in armed forces???Hey at least you can serve Pakistan while I cant unless through bureaucratic nonsense diaspora have to go through not fair Israel,Turkey,Greece, Armenia ,Iran, South Korea allow their diasporas in their armed forces they are many Pakistanis abroad who would love to serve in the PAF but the bureacratic nature of things prevent them from doing so
I think you can join army if you give up your American nationality.
No. A citizenship as per the constitution of Pakistan is sufficient.U need to be born in Pakistan to serve in armed forces???

There should be a process for the diaspora to serve but I think with OP mention above there is enough man power but I think they dont understand what we could have "international" caliber like solders in the PAF that could be useful I hate Israel very much but one thing I admire is the use of their "diaspora" to curry favor with allies
