He has a nickname praising his paternalism, a song depicting him as the ideal husband, and now president Xi Jinping has his own box office-breaking movie which hails his leadership.

But while authorities claim that Amazing China is a "smash hit" and a widely-loved "epic" that will have a "huge social effect", its success at the box office is in fact the result of people being forced to watch it.

The 90-minute documentary film was created by state broadcaster CCTV to highlight the country's achievements since Mr Xi assumed leadership in 2012.

It has become the top grossing factual movie ever in China, raking in over 300 million yuan (£34 million) at the box office since it opened on March 2.

lol the false flagger spends his time insulting China. LOL.

What a loser!

China is a rising superpower. I can smell jealousy from the Indian pretending to be an American on this Pakistani forum!

What part of the article is false.
1. Is it a Chinese propaganda film produced by the government- YES
2. Are people forced to watch- YES

What if it were the Indian government that did it?
You'd be concerned trolling all day in a heartbeat

Like it or not, China is on the rise and no one can stop her from becoming the most powerful country on earth!

The false flagger is posting topics left and right. It feels with desperation.

We Chinese are collective workers, only unity will make China strong, we want a common vision that to unite all 1.4 billions Chinese and catapult China into prosperity, a vision that outsiders such Indians and westerners will never understand and it should be better this way, it's part of our culture. People can label that as propaganda but nevertheless it's showing hope, encouraging and motivate Chinese people work harder for China, I see nothing wrong about it. An through such propaganda had help boosting China from nothing to 2nd world economic powers and high tech power house within only 40 years.

Here it's an example of promoting Chinese collectivism as all for one and one for all.:enjoy:

I appreciate your post. There is sincerity in it. Even so, an honest look shows "collectivism" is not working. For collectively making your country the second highest GDP, what did you get as workers? They took your hard made money and never brought you up to standards you should have been for having the second highest GDP i.e. As the second highest GDP China is lagging behind terribly in key indicators of where they need to be with their HDI, living standards/quality of life reflecting that 2nd highest GDP.

You should have attained a 'developed' world status for it. But you don't meet those criteria even with being second highest GDP. Why?

2. Take China's per capital GDP, for example. It stood at U.S.$6894.50 in 2016 -- 55% below the world's average, according to Tradingeconomics.com.

3.Then there's corruption which is ranked among the poorest countries, and nowhere near rich countries like the U.S. The rich are running off with your hard earned money to the U.S/Canada/ or UK mostly

4.Then there's pollution.China is the world’s top producer of carbon dioxide, the chief greenhouse gas - a status that isn’t expected to change anytime soon, as China’s government is part of the problem rather than the solution. 5 Causes of Poverty in China

All the above shows your model failed to bring to the people that sacrificed 'collectively' its due. Nobody wants your model because it is a hoodwink to make the masses do as the dictatorship wants & with little reward.

China model is not perfect but compare to India model Chinese collectivism had achieve the great success, we were once poorer than India before 1960s and through our collectivism spirit now we're more wealthier than them. But I agree with you that our workers didn't get much out of it due to exploitation and corruption, nevertheless as national scale, it make China wealthy, strong and competitive in international stage.

We don't expect a perfect but a competitive governing system. As long as the government go to the right direction to bring China glory as during Tang Empire, all people will stick with them, if this propaganda movie can guide & motivate Chinese people to serve the nation than it's certainly better than sex or any fantasy movies...which a total wasting time.
