DG Anti-Narcotics dismissed, Secretary ANF takes charge as Additional DG – The Express Tribune

Here you go folks. One of the only few good and reputable insitution left in the country, being ruined by he PM, all because his son was going to get implicated. The son of the PM was involved in illegal distribution/import of a drug, of about 10 tons, far exceeding the legal limit. The PM then changed the DG ANF, a Maj Gen (who was running the ANF very well). And replaced him with the secretary ANF, a bureaucrat, and hence stopping proceedings against his son.

As you can remember folks, pakistan was hounded in the international scene because of it's loose control on drugs and the ANF was formed to counter illegal narcotic trading, and did a fine job, under army officers.

JEAY BHUTTO!!!

. . .
I am sure some people would justify this because hey it is indeed to strengthen democracy in the country.

Dear Pakistanis,

Please take to the streets. Take to the streets to save your family/friends, your livelihood, and your country.

ANF is a good department, it will suck to see it go to the dogs now :tsk:

General Shakeel Hussain is my uncle/chachu. My family is very proud of him and his achievements for Pakistan, but none more so than this incident. It's a shame that we have the leaders in the government that we do, & how despicably the PM acted, just because General Shakeel wanted to act in accordance to the law, equally for everyone.

We congratulated him on this incident, because he stood for what is right in the face of real adversity, & made us very proud. We saw him go from an ordinary soldier, to a colonel, brigadier and Major General at a young age. He faced a lot of difficulties as a soldier in Siachen, but he was a brave man.

Unfortunately, due to certain prejudices (not belonging to a powerful family, being Shia & Urdu speaking), he could not be promoted to Lt-General, although he was quite a brilliant man, one of the few out there. Even though he was a prominent figure, he kept himself very low-profile, lived a very simple life. Pakistan has lost the services of a truly brilliant man, but we will always love Pakistan unconditionally, & provide our services to it in whatever way we can. Damn the PM/President & this "Azaad Adliya".

Indeed he is brave man.. still he must be feeling low as no one is supporting him from government.. where is opposition, right now it is moment for opposition .. common force government to cancel the orders ...

He is an honorable, honest man. He didn't have a bad bone in his body. He'd rather resign/leave than do anything wrong. He is relieved that this is over, saddened of course, but we love Pakistan unconditionally, and will always love it, and provide our services to the country in whatever way we can.

the case is currently in court, the son of the PM was implicated in some illegal quota of 'effordine'( spellings maybe wrong), and he gave 2 quotas to two companies in Multan. ANF was then investigating this case, and the PM changed the DG ANF. And another well running institution is going to the dogs!

you are in the pharma industry as well i think, can you give more info on this drug?

Ephedrine is a stimulant, it has similar chemical structure to amphetamines and methamphetamines, & can be used to manufacture ecstacy.

And what about the talk around that it is used in cocaine.

I have heard that students take it, to ease themselves ahead of exam fever.
