Denmark to train 10,000 farmers in refugee-hit Cox's Bazar district in Bangladesh

The Danish aid agency, Danida, will train 10,000 additional farmers in Cox’ Bazar with the help of Bangladesh government against the backdrop of recent floods and massive influx of Rohingyas from Myanmar.

Head of Danida in Bangladesh Peter Bøgh Jensen in a statement said the host communities in Cox’s Bazar have been “struggling”.



“Crops were damaged over and over again, and the fast influx from Myanmar put increased pressure on the local farmers. It is awful what is happening at the border, but it is important to remember and support the local communities as well as the refugees.”

The initiative aims to enable farmers to remedy lost earnings from damaged crops, the Danish embassy in Dhaka.

The people in the area have been exposed to a range of disastrous events in recent time from Cyclone Mora in March to flooding due to an unusually rainy monsoon.

The pressure on Cox’s Bazar reached its climax recently with half a million Rohingyas took shelter in one month only since the beginning of the military crackdown on Aug 25 in Rakhine State.

Danida has been running the ‘Farmer Field Schools’ as part of the Denmark-Bangladesh Country Programme which was signed last year.

Denmark is a longstanding development partner to Bangladesh in the areas poverty alleviation, human rights and climate change. The aim is to partner Bangladesh in its journey towards being a middle-income country, the embassy said.

Denmark will come to stir problems in Bangladesh, by using currentdesperate situation to convert people to militant Christians; should be kept away. DANIDA has track record of doing the same in Chittagong Hill Tracts and Noakhali marsh land area.

Besides, Bangladesh is a country of farmers who provides food for 160 millions. Do not need farming lesson from Denmark, which has completely different soil, environment and crops.

Why it is a problem when someone becomes a Christian? At least, he can claim he is no more a fanatic Muslim, who makes this world a Hell by bombing others' properties and killing innocent bystander, but daydream of entering Paradise after the death. I do not have to be a bigot to tell the truth of Muslims like you who are bent on making the ignorant Muslim societies fanatics and terrorists in the name of religion. Poor peasants or what, Muslims are trained to be fanatic in the Madrassahs by teaching them superstitions and unreal/surreal things.

They start bickering and are kicked out by others all the time. They take shelter in the Christian countries, but instead of thanking them, they bomb their cities. You see, how you a Muslim bigot like yourself are? Instead of thanking the Christian Denmark for its contribution to development of BD agriculture, you are cursing them for being Christian. I implore you why do not you ask the illiterate Fatwabaz Muslim countries to teach our farmers?
