What kind of parents do these children have? They don't look after young people specifically teens, and then this happens.
Here I want to repeat, if you have any teen child, you should keep a close eye on him/her to prevent her/him from screwing his/her own and others' future...

A mass shooting just happened north of Chicago, killing 6, but while the mayor says the shooter has terrorized the city, the guy’s motive seems like it will get swept under the rug.m, it reported long after the fact, usually as mental illness.

Once republicans are back in power, they will quietly drop investigating even this much.

The only clear pattern I have noticed (in America) is any area attracting mass migration (a large transient population) of or being predominantly lower and lower middle income individuals/families is more prone to this kinds of incidents. This is not in all cases, but it’s more likely. This is not to blame the majority of the residents, but that mass killers think they could get away with these horrific acts in lower income areas, probably due to lower police resources.

The alternative to this is areas that are gentrified tend to get more police services for even minor issues.

Is this pattern similar in Europe?

Isn’t there free universal mental health care in Denmark. If this guy had been mentally ill and noticed, would he been treated or been in treatment. And therefore how does he own a gun?

He was being treated (known in the system, psychotic), but apparently didnt help. He didnt own the guns. My guess is the owner was a family member, probably parents. It was a rifle meant for competitions (sports), I dont know what it is called in english. The rifle had to be reloaded after 3-4 shots.

A hunting rifle from the news reports I saw. I hope the parents are prosecuted as accessories to mass murder.

The news are just guessing. It was descibed as a target rifle with a magazine holding 3-4 bullets by a former crime investigator, model SIG Sauer 200 STR - he even had one himself.

You dont get procecuted and punishment like that if someone steals the key to your weaponry.

Considering the known mental health care issue with this guy in Denmark, it sounds similar (not the same) as the case last year in Michigan.

Unless reported stolen, the owners should be held liable for its improper storage and at least charged with manslaughter for its inappropriate use.

An exception is the New Zealand mosque shooter charged under Terrorism Suppression Act. It is time to recognize terrorism is a modern hate crime based on political and social stresses. I doubt civilians in medieval and ancient times went nuts and attacked to kill random civilians. Roman and most other empires had diverse inhabitants in terms of race and religion. The difference between then and now is that people didn't have the idea of nationalism.
