Delhi police probe Bangladesh link to car blast

The Delhi [ Images ] police are probing a couple of phone calls that were made from Bangladesh to New Delhi and feel that they may have something to do with the blast in the car belonging to the Israel embassy.


Four people, including a woman diplomat, were injured in the blast.

According to sources, the calls were made from Cox Bazaar in Bangladesh. The SIM card used to make the call was activated on February 1.

The first call was made to Delhi on February 4 and the second one was made at 4 pm on the day of the blast.

The Delhi police picked up this information based on intercepts and call tracking. Investigators are still trying to ascertain the nature of the call.

They suspect that the calls could have been made in connection with the attack.

"We cannot say for sure but a module from Bangladesh could have activated this hit," said one of them.

The police are trying to find out the person in Delhi who was contacted from Bangladesh.
