Here's the Andhra CM also requesting the Center for coal where the situation is :

The Chief Minister said thermal power generating stations of AP Genco, which meet 45 per cent of the state's energy needs, hardly have coal stocks for one or two days. The Genco plants were operating at less than 50 per cent of their 90 million units per day capacity.

AFAIK Andhra doesn't have free electricity and neither it has "Rohingyas".

1. You seem to have a dislike for free electricity which anyway should be free because it is a basic human right.

I believe Australia still has many coal to sell, China has stop buying from them since several months ago.

The problem is that your government dont want to pass the higher cost to the consumers ( it make power plant is reluctant to import coal and post lost in the process since the electricity price is not going up ) and also betting to see coal price going down while in reality it keeps going up.

I read about it couple of days ago, 70% plants in India are coal powered, because of rise in coal prices and its logistics it's companies are not maintaining minimum buffer stock, risking running out of fuel. However author was optimistic if winter arrives, energy demand could get lower easing pressure, but he said importing fast tracked coal is not the answer India should look at other power sources to lesson coal demand. We had almost similar situation in Pakistan not too long ago with fuel importers artificially creating a supply demand gap to jack up prices.

Ironically these coal plants can be shifted to gas and for that to be viable there has to be peace with Pakistan and stability in Afghanistan so gas pipeline projects could materialize into India.
