Defence Day terror attack foiled in Quetta: ISPR

QUETTA: Security forces on Saturday, in an intelligence based operation, foiled a terror bid which was set to be executed on Defence Day, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported.

“The terrorist was arrested during the operation who confessed his links with RAW, he also confessed having planted IEDs in Quetta on two separate occasions which took numerous lives,” officials stated.

Further, the suspected militant was arrested with various explosives in his possession, including an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing over 6 kilogrammes, a mortar bomb and nut bolts.

Earlier, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and officials of the security forces foiled an attempted terror bid during an investigation in Balochistan’s Sui region.

FC Balochistan seized around 15 kilogrammes of explosive materials along with four detonators and a remote control.

“The suspects were planning an attack on FC forces and gas pipelines between August 25 and 26, using the explosives,” FC spokesperson stated

کوئٹہ (92نیوز) کوئٹہ میں انٹیلی جنس آپریشن کے دوران یوم دفاع کی تقریبات پر حملے کا بڑا منصوبہ ناکام بنا دیا گیا۔ آئی ایس پی آر کا کہنا ہے کہ سکیورٹی اداروں نے ”را“ کے ایک دہشت گرد کو گرفتار کرلیا۔

آئی ایس پی آر کے مطابق دہشت گرد سے چھ کلو وزنی ریموٹ کنٹرول بم برآمد کرلیا ہے۔ سکیورٹی اداروں نے دہشت گرد کی جانب سے نصب کیے گئے ایک بم کو ناکارہ بھی بنادیا ہے۔

آئی ایس پی آر کے مطابق دہشت گرد نے ”را” کے ساتھ رابطوں کا انکشاف بھی کرلیا ہے۔ دہشت گرد اس سے پہلے کوئٹہ میں دو مرتبہ بم نصب کر چکا ہے جس کی وجہ سے کئی معصوم شہری اپنی جانیں گنوا چکے
