Storyline:

It is 1942 and the German submarine fleet is heavily engaged in the "Battle of the Atlantic" to harass and destroy British shipping. With better escorts of the Destroyer Class, however, German U-Boats have begun to take heavy losses. "Das Boot" is the story of one such U-Boat crew, with the film examining how these submariners maintained their professionalism as soldiers, attempted to accomplish impossible missions, while all the time attempting to understand and obey the ideology of the government under which they served...

awesome movie,one of the very best on subs..and some brutal facts about it..this movie isn't made to show heroic attitude,false pride or fantasy(unlike U-571 and Hunt for Red October),but to experience what actually happens inside subs..a must watch..and this movie makes me remember another german movie on battle of stalingrad,"Stalingrad"(those who thinks Enemy at the gates is best movie on this,should watch it)

Suggest me some more movies of sub warfare which includes combat.
Red October is good but hasnt got real combat just a skirmish.

I had the opportunity of watching it on the "Military Channel" but instead decided not to do so considering that it most likely had a tinge of anti-National Socialist WW2 Allied propaganda, as did and still do all of the movies regarding WW2 and Germany, like a lot of those old WW2 Classics like 'Kelly's Heroes' and 'Where Eagles Dare'.

This is not a hollywood movie bro. its a german movie. i suggest u watch it n trust me its way to better then hollywood's hitler's obsession films.
