Lucknow, June 1: Controversial Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Yogi Adityanath has demanded action against the family Mohammed Akhlaq, citing the fresh medical report which has been released by the Mathura-based government lab. With the meat seized from Akhlaq’s fridge by the security forces found to be beef, Hindutva groups in the region have demanded the Samajwadi Party-led state government to take penal action against Akhlaq’s family.
“The family of Akhlaq should be punished now. The truth is now out in the open. Those who questioned the action of Centre and attempted to defame BJP and Hindus, they should be ashamed now. This incident only shows the extent at which people could fall in order to defame Hinduism,” Adityanath said. The Gorakhpur MP has also demanded apology from the state government whom he accuses to have ‘victimized’ the Hindu youth of Dadri. (ALSO READ: Akhilesh Yadav questions authenticity

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has denied any law being violated by Akhlaq’s family. “There is nothing objectionable which their family has committed,” he said.
The report released on Monday is in contradiction to the earlier report which claimed that the meat seized from Akhlaq’s home on September 28, the night after his murder, was of goat’s. However, the fresh report claims that the meat is either of cow or it’s progeny.

Bharatiya Janata Party MP Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said the family of Mohammad Akhlaq, who was lynched in Dadri by a mob who suspected he had kept beef at home, should face charges for cow slaughter and be stripped of the benefits they were given after his killing. Adityanath's comments came after the lawyers of the accused released a forensic lab report to the media. The report, prepared at a Mathura lab in October, said the meat sample found outside Akhlaq's home came from a cow.

Akhlaq's son has said he will challenge the forensic lab's report in court, News18 reported. It remains unclear if the meat was even in the Akhlaqs' possession, and it has been pointed out that regardless of what it was, a lynching cannot be justified.

Uttar Pradesh police chief Javed Ahmed had said the new lab report "does not diminish the case as murder is an offence". Beef eating is not a crime in Uttar Pradesh, only cow slaughter is. Vishal, the son of local BJP leader Sanjay Rana, was arrested as the main accused in the case. Rana has said he will file a cow slaughter case against Akhlaq's family.

The incident, which took place in September 2015, caused nationwide outrage and fuelled a debate on religious intolerance in the country. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav offered Akhlaq's family Rs 20 lakh as compensation, and the Indian Air Force, where Akhlaq's son was an officer, offered the family protection. The family moved to Delhi soon after the incident, fearing for their safety.

In UP slaughtering Cow and it's progeny is illegal and punishable crime.

There is no law against eating beef.

There is a law against killing cows in UP.

Yogi A can demand anything but unless he has proof admissible in a court of law as to who actually killed the cow, he is p1ssing in the wind.

The penalty for cow killing is not vigilante style lynching.

For all useful purposes this case is now done. 18 people directly or indirectly involved in the lynching are in prison and will stay there for a long time. The victims family has been compensated handsomely and apologized to repeatedly. We cannot bring back the dead victim. We cannot bring back the dead cow. There is nothing left to be done.

These god@m politicians are picking at the scab again for the UP elections. This is a disservice to both Muslims and Hindus and to all the people of India.

It's The Height of Stupidity That One Has To Go Through 'Forensic' Tests To Ascertain That A Meat Is Mutton or Beef. When This Incident Happened,It Took A Forensic Lab 40 Days to Ascertain That It Was Mutton Now Out Of Nowhere A New Report Claims That It Is Beef.

I Tell You What Send The Meat To Pakistan We Will Tell You What It Is Without Any Cost Just By Looking At It

That is a pretty silly argument to make.

UP is a pretty lawless place so its foolish to expect "Law" to take its own course in UP. The course the "law" takes in UP is through the corridors of power and political expediency.

So the penalty for cow killing in UP IS a Vigilante style killing.

As for the compensation, Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav cornered the largest share of the compensation by winning back the Jungle Raj in Bihar

Now Akhilesh Yadav is seeking "compensation" as another term and the family of the Victim has got a special quarters assigned to him by the IAF and new Flats near Delhi by the SP govt. all for the act of killing and eating a tdomestic calf.

Beef is a sensitive issue all over India and I do not see why Politicians should not talk about this in a democracy and even make it an electoral issue. It is a great service to the people of India.

If they broke the law they should be punished.

I'm sure everyone knows by now, that you shouldn't kill cows in India.

Killing a cow is a crime IN THAT STATE. Eating beef is not.

A violent mob decided that a calf that was found missing had been slaughtered by Akhlaq, without any proof or evidence, judging purely by the presence of meat in his house, and killed him. The mob had been incited to do this in a systematic manner, using the helpless and fearful medium of a local priest, who was coerced by BJP politicians to proclaim a message of revenge against the perpetrator(s).

This is one of the worst cases that occurred after the current political configuration took over the central government.

Some of the members of PDF who favour that government and that way of looking at the minority issue in India, and the question of the rule of law, have been supporting this mob killing and justifying it on various flimsy grounds. They are attacking the basic fabric of democratic governance.

I understand that these complexities may not be known to you. For that reason, your statement, by itself, may be forgiven. We all agree that breaking the law should be punished. I am not sure that it is your own position that this punishment should be by a violent mob led by a communal politician opposed to the community whose member was attacked, and without any investigation or involvement of the state, or the apparatus of law and order. If I am wrong, please let me know, and I will act accordingly.

Cow slaughtering should be made LEGAL or else give these PDF members one cow each.

After 6 months everybody would be crying for legalisation of cow slaughtering.:D.
