Cycling: Is standing-pedalling good or bad for knees?

If possible, please give more details.

My knee didn't ache. It won't damage knees. If you stand while pedalling, your hips and knee will move freely instead of fixed like sitting & pedalling.

Not really sure but my knees are fucked anyways so i dont feel a difference either way. Cycling in itself is supposed to be low impact so wouldnt worry too much about the difference between standing and sitting pedal.

Cycling doesn’t even use knees. It uses triceps.

I cycle 8 hours a day frequently, the thing is if you have a good gears on your bike ( good brand and quality) with multiple combinations ( the more the better ) good handle , seat and good seat height as well as tire diameter , you do not need to stand cycle, it became irrelevant as you can just change your gears to accelerate, it is futile ,
Yet stand cycling requires very less knee energy , weighted squats and leg presses would hurt your knee x100 more and even that does nothing if done carefully
