SRINAGAR -- In the wake of schools, building and large number of vehicles being burnt or damaged in cross firing, the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has decided to set up more check and sand bunkers to prevent any untoward incident in restive Kashmir.
For the last fortnight, people have complained about feeling unsafe and worried about their properties.
"The main purpose is to check cars at strategic points so that the public does not face any problem and we can keep a tab on the movement of city traffic," said CRPF Commandant RK. Choudry.
"The places that we have decided to keep a tab on have its own importance and this new strategy is another step to restore normalcy in the state," he added.
The situation of Kashmir valley has been tense for more than three months, post the elimination of Hizbul Mujahideen Freedon Fighter Burhan Wani on 8 July.
