CPEC open for all; must not be politicized, Pakistan tells India

Pak cannot give access to afghanistan and expects indian investment....Lol.

Good speech btw.

We don't want our investment wash down the Indus.

Will Pakistan join a project in Arunachal Pradesh?

Does China allow third parties to run projects in AP? No they block any moves by ADB or WB.

But that does not apply to China because well, a bully has different rules for minions and others and minions have to keep parroting it.

stupid logic logical dude

Indians govt and those representing it here have small hearts...their past baggage stops them from taking part in a positive thing with a lame excuse of Chinese construction in gilgit-baltistan. India had no problem back in 60s and 70s when Chinese helped us build the karakoram highway in Gilgit baltistan and who cares even if they had grudges back then..anyways whenever you feel the burn just visit maps.google.in and watch our Kashmir as indian territory to relieve yourselves.

Even IF India was part of it- OBOR wouldn't have helped India in any major way- increase Chinese imports and help improve the supply of Chinese goods around the world.
Lack of potential benefits combined with geopolitics defines India's stance. Not just geopolitical reasons as Nawaz wrongly spoke.

You will benefit more, u can send ur export to russia, soviet federation and Europe by using one belt road which is cheap and more time saving as u compared with your sea routes.

So China blocks world bank funding to Arunachal Pradesh projects because they have small hearts? You agree?

Good as long as you are consistent, I will respect your opinion. But if you are going to be a Chinese poodle, then expect the respect a poodle reserves.

WB doesnt stop funding on orders of an x y z country.. it follows certainc SOPs...you fulfill the criteria you get the funding..

An Indian expert on Chinese investment risks :sarcastic:
Your are correct, Chinese knows it too, thtz y they got some guarantee assured returns where ever it was required... :-) Now the ball is in the court of the party who gave this guarantee assurance.

We will do it through north south transport corridor... OBOR or CPEC has nothing to offer India anything except easier access to Indian market for China.

Indians have small hearts? Then what will you call chinese who get heart attack whenever Dalai Lama travels to Arunachal Pradesh? India is more than willing to set aside political differences for economic cooperation for eg India unilaterally offers Pakistan MFN status but Pakistan neither reciprocates nor turns down India's offer.
Who has small heart?

Not really - India's exports to Europe represent a very small percentage of the whole. Meanwhile the exports to the US, Africa, Asian island countries, our direct neighbours and China itself (these represent majority)remain unchanged. Cost vs Benefits

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has assured the Chinese leadership that ‘troublemakers’ who want to sabotage the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and Gwadar Port would be ‘taken care of’ and Chinese personnel working in Pakistan would be provided foolproof security.

The assurance was given against the backdrop of a recent terrorist attack in Gwadar that left at least 10 labourers dead. Even though no Chinese national was among the dead or injured, the incident has mounted Beijing’s concerns given its extensive involvement in development projects in Pakistan linked to the Gwadar Port and CPEC.

Requesting anonymity, a senior federal government functionary said the prime minister had moved to allay the concerns of the Chinese leadership — both at the ‘official and personal’ levels when the deadly attack made headlines.

Sickening violence: Gunmen kill 10 labourers execution-style in Gwadar

The prime minister, who is on an official visit to China to attend Belt and Road Forum (BRF), was briefed about the details of the attack by Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri, who is accompanying the premier to China along with other three chief ministers and federal ministers.

After consultations with Zehri and other close aides, Sharif is said to have decided to personally speak to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang to assure them that the incident would not affect mutual economic interests of the two countries in Pakistan.

Reportedly, Zehri has also advised the prime minister to pay a visit to Balochistan to politically counter the negative propaganda against CPEC and the Gwadar Port. The visit is under consideration and its specifications would be mapped out upon the premier’s return to Pakistan, the insider said.

Official sources said Pakistan’s security bosses and civilian leadership also established contacts following two deadly attacks in Balochistan – one in Mastung and the other Gwadar.

Reportedly, the prime minister was briefed about the possible involvement of hostile agencies, including RAW and NDS in the two attacks. Corresponding to the move, important decisions on Balochistan are expected upon Sharif’s return to Pakistan — including scaling up Operation Raddul Fasaad in the province and devising a political strategy to counter the propaganda by the so-called nationalist forces in Balochistan against CPEC.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, Balochistan’s Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti said terrorist outfits in Balochistan were working as proxies of hostile agencies, including RAW and the NDS.

“Their operational networks and command and control centres have largely been destroyed. Some relics of these outfits keep rearing their ugly heads. They will also be crushed. Security forces have foiled countless incidents as a result terrorist activities have seen a drastic reduction in Balochistan.”

Replying to a query, Bugti said intelligence-based operations in Balochistan proved to be a major breakthrough “to break the backbone of terrorism”.

Law-enforcement agencies, security forces and the intelligence apparatus at the provincial and federal levels work in coordination to follow a multi-faceted strategy against terrorism.

Gwadar will change face of Balochistan: PM

“This strategy keeps evolving with respect to the situation and adjustments are made accordingly,” the minister said.

On the PM’s expected visit to Balochistan, Bugti said, “The national leadership is cognisant of the situation in Balochistan and will play every possible role to respond to the gravity of the situation. However, it will not be appropriate to share the details at this point.”

Sources close to the prime minister said it is under consideration whether Sharif would visit Balochistan before going to Saudi Arabia or after his return from the holy land.

The prime minister would leave for Riyadh on May 20.

India is already directly connected to China.

Why should we go around Pakistan to reach China.

CPEC is a connectivity between China and Pakistan no country is involved in that corridor.

The silk road is far and connects Chinese major cities to central asia and europe..

A road from kashgar to gwadar doesnt have anything to offer us. ( if there is anything please let us know).

Wow a Pakistani who resorts to denial? Who would have thought we will see this day? This is a first.

They finally successfully blocked the project.

I told you not to be a poodle.

somethings & some habits in some people never change but that was brutal mate :sarcastic:

What can I do mate. I was doing a civil interaction and even wished him and Pakistan the best with at most sincerity. But some guy's can't help replying back without teasing. :(

It will take AT LEAST six more years.
It is not Indian project but Chinese. CPEC is already operational and yes we are making these route expanded base of our future requirements, plus one more additional route is under construction it is called western route (Completion on 2018).

CPEC open for all; must not be politicized, Pakistan tells India

BEIJING: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Sunday said the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) under the One Belt, One Road (OBOR) initiative, was open to all countries in the region and categorically said the project “must not be politicized.”

“Let me make it very clear that CPEC is an economic undertaking open to all countries in the region. It has no geographical boundaries. It must not be politicized,” the Prime Minister said in his address at the plenary session of High-level Dialogue on Belt and Road Forum (BRF), themed “Cooperation for Common Prosperity,” being held in China’s capital.

India has boycotted the global event citing reservations on the CPEC route passing through Gilgit-Baltistan, India claimed to be a disputed territory. The Prime Minister’s statement is apparently a response to Indian concerns and opposition.

The Prime Minister called for building a peaceful, connected and caring neighbourhood by shunning mutual differences.

“It is time we transcend our differences, resolve conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy, and leave a legacy of peace for future generations,” he said at the BRF platform, with 29 heads of states and governments and 1,500 delegates in attendance.

The Prime Minister said peace and development go hand in hand, and nothing can pave the path for peace and security more than economic development achieved through regional collaboration.

“The OBOR signifies that geo-economics must take precedence over geo-politics, and that the centre of gravity should shift from conflict to cooperation,” he said.

The Prime Minister said OBOR could be regarded as a “powerful tool for overcoming terrorism and extremism.”

“As OBOR is unfolding across continents, it is fostering inclusion, creating tolerance, and promoting acceptance of cultural diversity,” he said,

The Prime Minister said CPEC was a core project of OBOR and had rightly been called its flagship for aiming to connect the neighbourhoods of East and West Asia.

He said CPEC made Pakistan both a conduit and destination for cross-regional investment and trade.

Terming ‘China as Pakistan’s close friend and trusted ally’, Nawaz Sharif said his participation at the Forum was to celebrate the remarkable success of the seminal initiative of ‘One Belt, One Road (OBOR)’.

He expressed confidence that the historic event would build critical pathways in the years to come for economic and financial cooperation, business-to-business collaboration, and people-to-people contacts.

He paid President Xi and the Chinese leadership his deepest tributes for their dynamic and creative leadership and said Pakistan admired China’s vision and ingenuity in developing corridors across regions.

A good show of PR from the Pak PM!!!! Don't know about the others, but Turkey is taking OBOR extremely seriously. Reis has attended and the Turkish experts are writing extensively on OBOR!!!! With CPEC as the "crown jewel", OBOR has been made even more attractive to the Turkish strategists!!!!
