I have stated this many times in past that if intention is to fix Pakistan's economy, first step should be to stop money laundering /smuggling of Iranian oil.
Since govt. did nothing to check pockets of people traveling out of Pakistan, especially land routes, where not even bags are checked and some case not even passports are stamped. There COVID has brought an end to those $ carriers.
However, as per my reports money laundering through Hundi/Hawal is on peak.
Still the partial closure of money laundering, plus the charity payments from over seas Pakistanis with start of month Ramadan, has raised Pakistan's currency value during the lock down period in Pakistan.
So at least for economy COVID came as blessing.
If borders remain closed for couple of more months, Pakistani currency will continue to crawl upwards against $.
