ISLAMABDAD :-The National Electric Power Regularity Authority (NEPRA) has issued Feasibility study report of first coal run power plant project which will produce 239 millions units of electricity. Feasibility report said that coal run power plant of 50-mega powers would be established in the area of Kalar Kahar. Project cost is Rs 780 millions and would be completed in 24 months.Mega power plant will be able to produce 239 millions units of electricity. Resultantly common man will pay Rs 9.65 per unit.

This is a good development.

However, I was reading previously that the ADB is demanding that 80% of the coal be imported and only 20% of local coal be used in the plants that they were going to help fund which is absolutely ridiculous though still better than the energy crisis (we will probably just import thermal coal from Iran).

They should also shift already running plants on coal as soon as possible through this they can provide cheap electricity to people and also gain politically
