Methane is good options and already tested on one of the F-22 engine, Electric Cars is emerging,Bio fuels are also an good options and in Maryland already running, but brightest future is/will be hydrogen fuels and will not emitting CO2 at all but only water vapors, its similar to rocket fuels which uses hydrogen/oxygen fuels
and as for power generations there lots renewable tech which emit no CO2 at all @undertakerwwefan

Electricity don't come from nowhere. You need to burn fossil fuel to make electricity. Hell, even wind turbines and solar panels emit CO2 when they are built. Ditto with mining for uranium. Every energy source emits CO2.

China was going to build one by 2050 but with China's crumbling economy I doubt it. Space based solar plant also need more maintenance because of cosmic ray and mini asteroids flying around damaging panels.

So? Making solar panel emits CO2. Also, mining for those rare earth elements emits CO2 they use diesel in mining machinery.
