April 05, 2015
karachi (INP): Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said the Chinese President, during his visit to Pakistan, will perform ground breaking of Pakistan-China Economic Corridor project.
Talking to the media persons in Karachi Saturday, the minister said this project will prove to be a fate-changer for the region. He once again dispelled the impression that any change has been made in the route of the corridor, stressing that this project will serve all the provinces and create many job and economic development opportunities. Ahsan Iqbal said work is also being initiated on the generation of 10,000MW of electricity with the Chinese cooperation.
The minister said both Pakistan and China are transforming their relations into a strategic economic partnership which will have far reaching impact on the country’s economy. He said the country’s economic indicators are on positive trajectory and the international agencies have also recognised the economic revival of Pakistan.
On the Karachi situation, Ahsan Iqbal said the provincial metropolis is heart of Pakistan’s economy and overall law and order situation has improved.
