Chinese police ID and arrest suspect among a crowd of 60,000 concertgoers using facial recognition software

A 31-year old man was identified by facial recognition software and arrested while attending a concert among 60,000 people in Hong Kong. The man was reportedly held for questioning regarding an "economic dispute".

Pop star Jacky Cheung's concert had just started when the man, only identified as "Mr. Ao" was approached by police and arrested in connection to an economic crime in the nearby Guangxi region. Mr. Ao's identity was detected by cameras inside the stadium equipped with facial recognition software.

A local police officer told China Daily: "The suspect was shocked that he was found among tens of thousands of people,"

Chinese authorities have been incorporating facial recognition technology more and more to surveil public places for persons of interest.

This is exactly what Pakistan needs and should get from China.

China has done commendable job in securing their internal and external security through the use of technology. It is a shame on the police forces of the subcontinent for not adapting the latest technology to maintain law and order and engage in endless corruption.

Pakistan is making its own system.

. . .
Reminds me of Minority Report when Tom Cruise's character couldn't get away unless he changed his face and eyeballs.

Easier said than done!
It is almost impossible for the whole country but only some cities may be covered. In fact, Pakistan already is working on Smart City Projects that cover CCTV surveillance of the population!

Yeah that is why i termed it impossible, given the financial condition/economic situation we face. "Money no problem" have not been really helpful and as time progressed, the economic situation have revealed itself to be worst than many of us were trying to tell you and others.

Start from major cities and spread than but eventually it has to be spread in entire country.

There data can be also made
Why we need to spend millions to register Afghan scums? There time is up throw them out otherwise people like Pasheen got their support and later they will demand separate country.
