BEIJING, Jan 7 (APP): A Chinese media delegation, the first in 2012, reached Islamabad on Friday night.The 5-member delegation from Peoples Daily Online, led by Deputy Chief Editor, Ms. Sun Haifeng, is on a week-long tour and would visit Islamabad and Lahore.During their stay in Pakistan, they would interview the top leadership of the country.The Peoples Daily Online is the web version of Peoples Daily, Chinas most influential newspaper, which belongs to the Communist Party of China and has a daily circulation of 3.5 million.The online paper is the biggest web portal of China and gets an average of 200 million hits every day.
Peoples Daily Online has set up a dedicated blog informing their readers about the visit and expected interaction with Pakistani leadership.Chinese netizens are posting comments about Pakistan-China friendship while suggesting them questions for the interviews.
Exchange of media delegations between Pakistan and China is a regular feature and helps journalists better understand each others culture while playing an important role in strengthening people-to-people contact between them, said Ambassador Masood Khan here.
In 2011, when both the countries held over 80 activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, a large number of journalists from both the sides visited each other countries.
