A man in eastern China who had 30,000 yuan (HK$33,625) in banknotes blown away by a gust of wind managed to retrieve it all, thanks to help from passers-by and bank staff.

Yang Jiawang, a resident of Yancheng, Jiangsu province, left the cash at the entrance of a Postal Savings Bank branch in the rain while he parked his electric motorcycle, intending to deposit the money, the Modern Express reported.

He exclaimed when the gust blew the money across the pavement on Wednesday, which drew the attention of the bank staff and passers-by who braved the rain to help him pick up the 100-yuan banknotes, the report said.

After counting the cash, the man found all the money had been recovered and thanked those who helped him.

This man is lucky to have encountered honest fellow citizens.

LMAO.
If the wind were stronger, then the demonetisation would happen.....
:rofl::rofl:

Such Chinese people have more moral value and decency than many religious people all around the world.
This proves that religion is not the only source of good moral values, and even without it our human values will prevail. Wonderful!

We believe in Confucianism, a social norm.

You want a totally and completely totalitarian system? Let TPTB to completely control your money without escape.

Some people are simply too naive.

As if paper money is any different? :P

Didn't you see what happened in India and North Korea? The majority of paper currency was made worthless overnight.

And if your paper currency is worthless, then no shopkeeper or landlord will accept it. What are they going to do, keep it under their bed as a souvenir?

It doesn't matter what form your money takes, whether it is in cash, assets or gold. If it's on the books, the government/banks know about it. If it's off the books, it's illegal and they will seize it anyway.

Or you could just live as a homeless person, and they might just forget about you. But is that really worth it? Apparently no one here believes so, since most of us are sitting at home using WiFi or 4G to browse this forum.
