Chinese Da An Gene's Shares Jump on EU Go-Ahead to Sell Covid-19 Testing Kit
(Yicai Global) March 3 -- Da An Gene's stock price rallied today after the Chinese genomic sequencing firm said that its Covid-19 testing kit has reached the standards to be sold in the European Union.
Shares of Da An Gene rose 6.42 percent to CNY5.75 (US 82 cents) this afternoon, the highest since late February.
The company, established by Guangzhou's Sun Yat-Sen University, has obtained the EU's CE certification for its product, the southern Chinese firm said on the investor communication platform of the Shenzhen bourse today.
BGI Genomics, another Covid-19 testing kit maker, has gotten a step further as it has secured CE marking and the European Free Sales Certificate for its product so that it can also be sold in non-EU markets, the Shenzhen-based firm said in a statement on March 1.
