But, I guess here people do not like it much. Especially the smell.

European cheese too have a terrible smell, to us Malaysian/Asians, but people have come to appreciate it. Early Chinese and Indian immigrants disliked durians too. Taste can be acquired, just need more exposure.

I know, I lived in Singapore for quite a while :D

But could never get to eating Durian haha, I did eventually acquire taste for Jackfruit though (my south indian genes probably kicked in finally after some period of dormancy on the issue given I lived in HK in childhood).

Dude, there is a unique specie of jackfruit in my house in India, it has the best jackfruit you’ll ever taste.

Thai durians taste quite different from Malaysian durians. I prefer the Malaysian one. Thai durians feels too wet and overripe for me.
