Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam meets Vietnam general staff chief

Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Sun Guoxiang met with Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, newly-appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army in Hanoi on Monday.

Lieut. Gen. Ty, who is also a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, said at the reception that the Vietnamese Ministry of Defense will spare no effort to make contributions to increasing the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership between Vietnam and China.

He expressed his wish that the Chinese Ambassador will continue to promote the Vietnam-China strategic partnership in general and the two armies in particular, in line with the common aspirations of both countries' people.

Sun thanks Lieut. Gen. Ty for the reception and congratulated the latter on his appointment as Chief of the General Staff and re- election as a member of the CPV Central Committee.
