Chinese 99A Tank

keep building these sorts of tanks. its a threat 4 india

Nope. they are not. If India and China ever go to war again (which i seriously doubt), tanks wont be involved, since tanks can't cross the himalayas.

No Nation wants to go to war in this time, same is the case with India. Hope we don't see the the scenes of Iraq.( or is it just with China?)

Obviously. India and China are the fastest developing nations in the world. it would be the utmost foolishness for us to engage in a war, which might go nuclear, and destroy everything we have worked for.

Only fools desire war.

So this is a light tank or is it a medium tank ( in terms of weight of course). why doesn't china start building heavy tanks like NATO has. i mean in the near future if things go south with Taiwan the Chinese might have to send an evasion force which will need heavy tanks to battle the Taiwanese tanks

Well the differene b/w 120 & 125 is nothing much. The reason Russians use 125mm,as they could not generate the range with their 120mm guns comparable to the western 120mm.
Add to this, due to their 2 piece ammo, western armour cannot be penetrated at longer range by Russian 125mm. Hence they have gun launched AT missiles.
No advantage or disadvantage as such.Basically different concept/doctrine to achieve the same goal, based on the tech they had.

Ofcourse 140 mm means bigger shells, hence the chances of the target surviving is very less.Since most of the nations are moving towards heavier and better armour, current 120/125 mm shells may not defeat them. Hence some nations are planning to try out 140 mm.
