China’s troubled Wanda sells down AMC stake

Nice copycat. Looks like you got nothing to say? Truth hurt for white racist, western bootlicker and white imperialism... :enjoy:
See... When you're in denial from your own "post" that's say a lot...

China can show them what real ‘intellectual property theft’ feel like :D.

Nice to see Wanda getting rid of toxic assets broad. Good for the economy :D:tup:
I just copied one of his post... So please refrain from criticizing Mr Beast...
And don't feel played...You just didn't know...May be a lesson for you

So Next time... Try to "search"... otherwise you may feel embarrassed...
Or not Butting in if you don't have the package that goes with it...
Just a Pro-Tip...

Before 2017, no Chinese film made it in the top ten.

Are you a joke or something? I certainly hope China can make a movie that makes China's own top 10 list or that would show even more super patheticness. I guess I was giving their film industry credit as I figured they ALWAYS had native movies in their top 10 list. Thanks for letting me know they couldn't even pull that accomplishment off until recently. LOL!!!

Current Top 10 Film (2018)
9. Operation Red Sea - $580 million
10. Detective Chinatown 2 - $ 550 million
2017
7. Wolf Warrior 2 - $880 million

As I said in the earlier posts Wanda is just giving up its dream of showing Chinese movies in the US because the most blockbuster Chinese movies completely FAIL overseas. Nobody goes to see them.

Your own list shows exactly how:

Wolf Warrior 2
China: $854M
+ World: $16M <- How sad is that!! :china:
= Total: $870M

Detective Chinatown 2
China: $541M
+ World: $13M <- How sad is that!! :china:
= Total: $554M

Operation Red Sea:
China: $575M
+ World: $4M <- How sad is that!! :china:
= Total: $579M

Meanwhile almost every year multiple US movies cross the $1Billion mark.
This year the Avenger's Infinity War movie crossed the $2Billion mark.

The following crossed the $1Billion mark this year (and the year isn't even over yet):
Black Panther
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Incredibles 2

Before 2017, no Chinese film made it in the top ten. Nowadays it's easy for Chinese film to make it in the top 10, expect China to have more in the coming years as the Chinese movie industry continues to expand way faster than america. :china:

Chinese films make the majority of their money off of Chinese viewers. Chinese films have almost no audience overseas, and the ones that do see it are likely of Chinese origin.

Neither of those two Chinese films will likely be in the top 10 by the end of the year.

Lol... Most mega movies need to depend on Chinese market. Without Chinese share, the margin will be very low. President Xi has hint Hollywood will be ban if trade war intensify.

Not sure how much truth is in this BBC report..

But Chinese movie industry is becoming BIG>

Yep, they have been caught doing that
http://www.xinhuanet.com/english/2016-03/19/c_135204468.htm
"Ip Man 3" distributor suspended for box office fraud
"Beijing Max Screen, the film's distributor, admitted to having bought 56 million yuan's worth of the tickets itself, and the conspirators fabricated more than 7,600 screenings of the film that they claimed generated 32 million yuan in ticket sales, "

Movie producers in cahoots with cinema owners claiming empty theaters are actually full is not the only scam.

Some theaters were caught intentionally ringing up all ticket sales to one particular movie which was offering them a bigger cut of ticket sale profits and then taking pens to the tickets by crossing out the name and substituting the name of the movie the patron actually asked for.

Damn Chinese really know how to spend, no wonder hollywood movie makers are doing everything they can to make their movies attractive to the Chinese movie goers. Too bad the Chinese movie goers are only willing to give $800 million to China made movies. :smitten:

And arent american films used to easily do more than a billion gross, why are you so shocked?

Meanwhile out of nothing, we now have Chinese films easily grossing more than half a billion to almost a billion. That's a very fast growth for the Chinese film industry, the fastest actually in the whole world. :china::china:

Dalian Wanda Group has sold off most of its holdings in movie theater chain AMC Entertainment, marking a dramatic retreat from Chinese billionaire Wang Jianlin’s bold Hollywood ambitions.

Wanda sold nearly $426.9 million worth in shares of AMC over the last week, reducing its stake in the theater chain to just 0.002%, according to a regulatory filing Friday.

The Chinese investor has held a controlling stake in the exhibition giant since a $2.6 billion deal in 2012 that at the time marked the largest overseas acquisition by a privately held Chinese company. The Beijing-based group began paring its stake in AMC in 2018 and in March this year, it sold 15.6 million shares for $220 million.
