BEIJING, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- The year 2020 saw China making considerable cutting-edge achievements in science and technology. Emerging new equipment and records brought the country's creative power under spotlight on the global stage.

A research team including Chinese quantum physicist Pan Jianwei established a quantum computer prototype, named "Jiuzhang," via which up to 76 photons were detected, the team announced Dec. 4, 2020.
This achievement marks that China has reached the first milestone on the path to full-scale quantum computing -- a quantum computational advantage, also known as "quantum supremacy," which indicates an overwhelming quantum computational speedup. (Xinhua)

China Sends World’s First 6G Test Satellite Into Orbit.
The 6G experimental satellite, named after the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, was jointly developed by Chengdu Guoxing Aerospace Technology, UESTC, and Beijing MinoSpace Technology. It will be used to verify the performance of 6G technology in space as the 6G frequency band will expand from the 5G millimeter wave frequency to the terahertz frequency.
The satellite is the first technical test of terahertz communication’s application in space.
The technology is expected to be over 100 times faster than 5G, enabling lossless transmission in space to achieve long-distance communications with a smaller power output. The technology allows terahertz to be widely used in satellite internet.

2020 is a very good year for China technology advancement. I can't wait for China to kickstart the space station program. It will be the one to watch out and will have a global influence.

While China need to accelerate 921 rocket project to start Mars sample return. I believe CNSA is already very confident of the sample return tech and all it short of ,is a heavy payload space rocket double or triple the capacity of LM-5. And this is not difficult to achieve. All they need is used existing YF-100 engine and reconfigure a heavy payload capacity with updated boaster.

Not bad, especially considering that a good first half of 2020, China had to deal with containing the pandemic.

Also noteworthy: China eradicated basic poverty. This has a lot with policy innovation and technology.
