Akira seems like he's way too conservative. In Japan I can understand because normally we don't shake hands, but we great by customary bow. Perhaps your friend Akira took it as insult when another Nihonjin offers to shake hand because that's now our way of greeting.

But man , if we go outside of the country and live / work in the west like USA or Germany, it's best we adopt the customs of the land you know? To assimilate is good because we don't appear out of place or seem rude by failing to assimilate in tu host country.

Duuuuude!! In Japan, specially in the countryside it's very rare to see gaijin walking about. So if ever there are European tourists , specially blonde haired ones , everyone looks LOL!

Some of your points are valid but men can be the same way, many men want their girlfriend/wife to look, act and be a certain way. It's human nature.

As for your comments, i don't know if you are speaking from a relationship point of view or when a man is trying to find a partner (girlfriend/wife). In terms of men approaching women that they would like to meet, it can be brutal. Many women (even if they like you) will blow you off and pretend that they are not interested, sometimes they can even be downright mean and even worse is that 95% of women will never approach a man and ask them out, so it's tough being a man. Even men that are extremely good looking and have good attitude and character can sometimes be thrown under the buss, so to speak. That is some women can be down right nasty to men even if the men are respectful, i don't know, maybe it's because they get hit on a lot or maybe they are already in a relationship but some women should be more respectful and just say something like, 'im taken sorry'. I have a lot of respect for women that have the courage to approach a man that they are interested in or women that are at least polite when they are approached. Women don't know how hard us dudes have it.

Americans like foreign things, America hates itself. One can come to any number of conclusions.

Caucasians are a rarity in China and Asia in general. One example is I grew up in a small town, but I been in a big city before that. The big city(vancouver) had mostly all Chinese where I lived, dating a white chick at that time was rare, me being 9 years old had something to do with it, but still.

When I moved and everyone was caucasian, and I was the only Asian kid, all my girlfriends and friends had been caucasian. When I again moved to a big city(Calgary), I have some immigrant friends who are fascinated by white chicks, when I can barely notice them.


America and Western world in general are very diverse and thus no one race is any more fascinating than the other(Zayn Malik, come on dude), China lacks this, thus to them, what is normal, isn't normal.

Having something foreign, nobody had, it's just a status symbol, it's cool, it distinguishes you.


But you can come to any conclusion you wish. I could care less.

People try to cheat people? There's too many reasons on why people do that, the scale of the scam, and things like that. Believe me it's not a problem exclusive to China.

Overall, this is way over the scope of this discussion.

I thought this was a discussion over the view of Caucasian people by the Chinese.
