China’s Mars rover feat took NASA decades

.
The mental gymnastics and goal post moving by our insecure "American" trolls, to cope with a little Chinese rover landing on Mars, that is at least 10 years ahead of anything their feared, is delicious 😂

Let me bust your fake lies....

Look at these photo.

You see the size of Opportunity which is not even the same class as Zhurong despite Zhurong only weight additional 100kg more than Opportunity. The solar panel onboard is far bigger and more advance to allow more power to sustain more scientific experiment. Look at the size of Zhurong wheel vs the pathetic Opportunity small wheel. Tell me which one has better chances of getting pass a rocky path.

US NASA also claim Opportunity to work only 90 days and yet this rover work for a whopping 14 years before dead. You can imagine Zhurong are fitted with more advance solar panel with anti Sand material and multi angle adaption to better capture solar power to last longer and work longer despite being a solar power instead of nuclear power.

As for sensor, my compatriot already explain it well of some sensor which is absent from US rover especially the magnetic sensor which allow CNSA to have a first hand knowledge of Mars magnetic exact status.

With a planned 90-sol duration of activity (slightly less than 92.5 Earth days),
Let them self masturbate, Chinese rover is only slightly less advanced compared to Presevarance. Dumb asses don't even know the difference between planned duration and actual duration, most space mission are planned to have a short mission duration but will most likely outlast that by several years.

The Indian ego is easily bruised.

and you conveniently forgot the west blocked us for 30 years till 1979
Well, you guys actually blocked yourself to be honest . You had a purely maoist communist ideology and economic policy actually. Wouldn't have been much different no matter what the West did. Look at India, they followed a similar Soviet communist economic policy of absolute state control over everything with little to no foreign trade (since anything even remotely capitalist was shunned and discouraged) , reason their economy barely grew throughout their independence until the mid 90s after they finally throw that stupid Soviet model to the dust bin just like China did earlier.
So no, it was your own government policies that was to blame, not the West

Yutu-2 was planned for 3 months of operation but is still working. The conditions on the Moon are much harsher compared to Mars. So we expect zhurong to last for years as well.

lol yes I said Spirit is similar to Zhurong. To my eye Spirit and Zhurong practically look like brothers. Sure the Zhurong is bigger but the design of the solar panels the drive system, placement of sensors look identical,

Sorry, size does matter. :enjoy:

Zhurong has better chance of clearing rockey obstacle due to better power ,larger and more advance wheel. The bigger capacity also allow it to carry more scientific sensors. Working up to 20 years shall not be a problem.

Yes. But using conservative and much safer technology of each launch for a single mission compare to China highly advance and risky single launch to accomplish 3 things... [(Orbiter, Land and Explore (Rover)]

Are you kidding me? This was 1976...before the PC revolution.
Everything was exponentially harder back then. This is like you saying somebody living in a China back in 1976 should have been using smartphones to pay their bills...but instead were still using paper currency to be safe.

What?? Are you clueless or something? We didn't even have color chip camcorders back then nevermind powerful processors. Even digital watches were rare and expensive.

Doesn't matter, wait u do it first then talk. 3 mission in a single launch can be done by more advance country. Low tech country find it too risky for such move.

ESA attempt such risky move and failed badly in 2016 attempt.

Yeah, A low tech country doesn't even have the ability to send a satellite beyond Earth's orbit in 1976. It's beyond their comprehension. Let the high-tech countries lead the way.

Low tech countries use foreign engine or rocket to send rovers or orbiter to Mars in 2020. Like UAE and U......

Space power like China and Russia don't do such spineless thing. :enjoy:

Hey what I'm trying to say is maybe in 45 years in 2066 some country like South Korea is going to send a rover to Mars without needing a parachute and lander and then is going to look at you funny because you didn't wait until you had the technology to do it..what's the definition of when waiting is long enough? 100 years?

Come on...a lot can change in 45 years. What's this lame "waiting" excuse?

You are just going to turn to South Korea and say hey you were twiddling your thumbs doing nothing when we landed on Mars way back in 2021..what's this "wait" crap you are suddenly spewing in 2066?

yes but the fact remains the Zhurong design was inspired by spirit and opportunity rover. Solar power isn't ideal for a dusty planet like mars.

Since South Korea is a US lapdog you wouldn't want to troll them Hey USA did in 1997 what took you so long? But we understand you are sour because China is receiving the praise from decent Americans and that pisses you guys off so you start telling us USA landed on Mars in 1997. Get a life, China's first attempt was a success thus deserving the praise from NASA and around the world. If India ever succeeded landing on Mars you go troll them how US got there first in 1997.
