China wins war against South Korea's US THAAD missile shield without firing a shot

Wrong. Samsung, Hyundai, Lotte losing market in China is not because of China's government policies. There are two reasons: 1, They can not compete with China's domestic companies( Samsung phone market share dropped very fast even before THADD incident) in free trade environment. 2, Chinese refuse to buy due to the anti-SK emotion.

You need to look at the reason why Samsung cannot sell in China, then you will know why there are protectionism involved.

First of all, the tax. I can buy a Samsung S8 here in Australia for A$999 and the price goes up to $4000 to $5000 (1100-1200 AUD) RMB easy when they were first on sale. I used to make money shipping Samsung Phone back to China and sell them in China form either US, Hong Kong and Australia, and I can make a few thousand dollar with just a few phones that way.

China levy 13% import tax to foreign product. From Mobile Phone to car, and some model was outright banned to prevent competition to Chinese brand For example, China ban the official sale of Samsung Galaxy J series (Or A-Series??) mobile phone so they would not be able to compete with Chinese Mid-Range Brand. Which mean in China, you either go for low end Samsung or you go for their flag product. Another thing is you are not allow to use the same version you have in the west and sell them direct in China, Chinese Samsung Phone have to be Engineered to their standard (so you cannot use google and firewall and filtering etc)

There are a lot of protectionism enacted by China either impose heavy taxes or controlling the market and these are quoted a lot in Korea news channel for what and why Korean Brand is failing in China.

China depends on some(not a lot) SK products (RAM for example). But the situation will change in near future cause China is building its short boards with huge investments.

South Korea actually have a trade surplus to China, I don't know how many SK product China depending on, but judging by the trade surplus, those are in an enormous volume.
